    In April 2024 we utilized *********************** from Hilltop Tax services again to complete our 2023 income tax return On April 26 2024 we met with Mr **** and were advised after completing our tax return my wife and I owed CRA money in the amount of $14,319.93 ($8351.52 for me and ******* for my spouse). We obviously did not question Mr **** as he stated we made too much money and he utilized all tax breaks available to us. We paid Mr **** $254.25 for his services and his fee included any follow up services or required representation with CRA should either one of us get audited. We paid CRA what was owed by us and put it behind us. On October 18 2024 my spouse received a letter from *** advising after an audit of her 2023 tax return, that Mr **** completed, CRA indicated that the amount of tax deducted on her return did not match the T4 slips they had on file and they requested these items be re submitted and we had a deadline. On October 24 I contacted Mr **** by phone and left a message about the letter and asked that he call me back. i then sent a detailed email to Mr **** and attached the letter we received from *** asking for his assistance. We never heard back from him. I sent another follow up email and attempted to contact him on Oct 30,Nov 1 and Nov 8 leaving messages. Mr **** nor his spouse returned our calls or responded to our email. We became concerned that he was negligent in completing both our returns and subsequently hired and paid another tax return specialist to review our return based on the T4s and information we provided to Mr **** on the original filing. This review resulted in the errors being found in the original return Mr **** filed in April resulting in a substantial over payment in taxes to *** This tax specialist then filed a request for re assessment which was accepted and *** reviewed and issued a refund for over $7000 for over paying in taxes. It was determined that Mr **** was responsible for these errors. Mr **** has yet to respond
