I applied for a credit card online. I then received a letter informing me I was approved for a credit card and to call in to verify some information before they would send me a card. The representatives I spoke with told me I was not in fact approved and that the letter was intentionally deceptive to ensure I would call in. This seems nearly illegal as it clearly stated I was approved for credit. They sent me a letter that but their own admission was deceptive and false . This wasted much of my time for no good reason.

Over the course of 6+ months I have tried to speak to dozens & dozens of people. I have been routinely hung up on (total of 6x on Dec 29 2022) alone. I have been with MBNA is some form for a decade & was my very first credit card company. The service is an embarrassment & a joke. All I was asking for is to review my interest rates & offer me something lower I know im eligible for as I have been getting card offers for half or more then half of what im receiving now. I no longer wish to have anything to do with MBNA, I will not be paying a cent to MBNA until some form of compensation & resolution is resolved. I do not wish to deal any further with this joke you call customer service or pathetic management, who say they are going to contact me & never do/did. Your employees are condescending & ignorant, hanging up on me when supposedly transferring me, You cant even send out replacement cards correctly. I am 100% accepting offers from other companies & leaving. What you do to correct this is up to you.

In response to our customer's concerns, we responded on January 6, 2023 and forwarded his comments regarding his interactions with employees appropriately. The customer informed us that he remains dissatisfied with the account's pricing and expressed his desire to elevate his concern. The customer was provided with our escalation process should they wish to pursue their complaint.

MBNA ********** owes me exactly $8,104.88 They attempted to deposit it to my bank account but instead deposited it into some phantom account which they can’t explain. Now my December account statement shows that they had the nerve to charge interest and an OVER-LIMIT FEE of $35. I phoned them yesterday and all they said was that someone will call me in about 5 days and if not, try calling back.

I received a letter from MBNA Canada dated October 21, 2022 advising me that they are closing my credit card account on November 30 2022 due to "absence of mandatory information in our records for your MBNA credit card account...we are required to close youe account." They advised me to apply for another credit card on their website. I'm so upset about this, as I'm a cardholder in excellent standing. In my opinion, MBNA has not provided a legitimate reason why they are closing my account. Apparently, the agent I spoke to says that all credit card holders with a credit limit of $15,000 or over are being closed. My account was opened in 2016. The agent said that security policies are not the same now as they were then. He also said that their MBNA agents don't have the authority to obtain the mandatory info thats missing. It sounds so very bizarre! Im at a loss and hope that *** can investigate this matter for me! What recourse do I have as a consumer? I feel totally helpless in this situation. The big banks and credit card companies seem to be able to do whatever they want!

Hi, This is regarding the MBNA credit card application I submitted in August. I got an approval letter in mid-August and called to submit additional details as mentioned. Then the customer service rep took the details and within two weeks after I got my credit card. When I called again to activate my card the customer service rep said my account is cancelled without no proper explanation. They mentioned the previous customer service rep had done an error while inputting my info and that's the reason for account cancellation. By this time there are two credit checks done and it has a huge effect on my credit score. I asked them what the next steps are and they said I have to resubmit a new application again and said they wouldn't be doing another credit check since I have gone through the process. But last I checked they've done another credit check which comes to a total of 3 which now has reduced my credit score by so many points. After all of this, they sent me a letter that my last credit card application is rejected. This is very poor customer service. Nobody from MBNA has contacted me to resolve this dispute amidst my multiple inquiries. I even reached out to the senior management line which they guaranteed to get back with 48hrs and nobody has reached out to me yet. Right now, I'm clueless about what exactly happened with my already received credit card not getting activated and all the unexplained credit checks MBNA has done which have affected my credit score heavily. All this time what I've requested is an explanation of what has really happened and how to sort this issue. I haven't gotten anybody from MBNA to reach out to solve the issue properly. Very disappointed with the customer service received and the full banking experience.

I am rejecting this response because:
Hi, Thank you *** for following up on this. Yes, it’it’s true that MBNA did contact me for my complaint and gave a solution. But up until now this solution they gave is not executed. So up to date my issue is not sorted. It’s been so many days and I’ve been very patient and supportive on working together to solve this . But not seeing a progress on my matter makes me really disappointed.

      Sincerely,
      ******* *********

Order Placed: October 24, 2020 ********* order number: ******************* Order Total: CDN$ 883.01 Purchased through my MBNA Card which provide a 1 year extended warranty to the manufacturer warranty. Due to the fact that MBNA has changed insurance company in 2021, I had to deal with the existing insurer which was **** I can not file a claim becuase when submitting this online, it tells me to contact ****** ***** which is the current MBNA insurance handler. So I was transferred to the special department that handles MBNA warranty via phone and for 3 attempts in the last month, i have been placed on hold for over an hour, until it hung up. There is no one to talk to, its aboslutly ridiculous and shameful that a large company as such treats its customers in such manner. I need to file a claim and you can not talk to anyone or reach anyone. I expect a full refund and a solution for this, I have all the documents required and I think it is time for *** to get their act together with regards to their customers. If anyone from *** is seeing it, please feel free to either provide me with a phone number where i can talk to someone without being transferred into a loop that goes nowhere, or send my information by email. I hope to hear from *** soon and resolve this ASAP.

I have been trying to get my money from Assurant for the last two years now. I had insurance with Assurant for my credit card alongside the thieves of MBNA. With this insurance, I was supposed to get 20% of the amount of my credit card in the case of losing my job. Assurant owns me around 30000$ CAD now and still refuses to give me my money because I was working outside of Canada before the scam of covid19! They keep rambling that I need a t4 to be able to give me my money! I told them I don’t have a bloody t4 because I was outside of Canada for over 10 years. This is illegal what the bastards are doing! I sent them all bank statements showing I was jobless (I am still jobless) and even the letter from my lawyer oversea suing my boss from my old job. I have many recorded phone calls were trying to contact a supervisor from the thieves of Assurant and MBNA and they just don’t give a bloody damn! Both of them ignored my emails as well! Not only did they are owning me a lot of money but they destroyed my credit. I can’t wait to get out of Canada once again and to start working once again to sue them badly for what they owe me and morals, damage, and interest. This is going to cost them much more than the insurance they own me! Stay away from this business if you don’t to be treated like a street dog!

Hi there, I have been trying to pay off a written credit card with mbna but they won’t let me pay them directly and they keep giving me a number to which the agency doesn’t have me on file.
