August 2, 2022 made the arrangements to have this taxidermy company to mount a 41 inch northern pike. Was told approximately 8 months to complete. That went by so I called and was told supply issues etc, ok, got it but I had to as with many times reach out to inquire about the completion date as months would pass by with no updates. Finally called and was told about supply issues, the companies reputation of 30 plus years of working in the business which still never answered my question as to why such the long delay but the response was about each fish is special and takes time etc. ok I get it but little to know communication and when inquiring you feel like you as the client/customer did something wrong. I was told in a email that the process now takes 18 months to complete and got no response to we are now in the 27 month mark and no fish yet, took 31 months with no follow up as to satisfaction etc just the final payment. To sum it up the only thing that worked out was the actual shipping to our location but upon opening the crate the fish main mounting bracket was loose allowing the fish to move with rubbing on the back of the tail. The lure hook was not covered over and in conjunction with the additional movement got snagged up in the plastic which was a lot to cut free without doing further damage. Now the kicker is the pike was 41 inches long and we sent pictures and measurements well this pike is 44 inches and only somewhat resembles the original pike by a few markings.
***** ******* ** **** ********* I went off word of mouth but those mounts were done many years ago and I tell you this is NOT the same outfit from many years ago.

We are genuinely disappointed to receive this review, especially after the significant effort and dedication our team has invested in creating your unique display.
You are correct that we have experienced delays, and we acknowledge this. We have communicated the reasons for these delays in several emails throughout the course of your order. This situation is not one we chose, but rather one we are actively working to resolve. Due to issues such as paint supply shortages and the closure of the world’s largest producer of glass eyes, we have faced significant challenges in fulfilling orders. To address these issues, we have taken drastic steps, including starting to manufacture our own eyes, among other measures, to ensure we can continue delivering the highest quality pieces and take steps to reduce turn arounds.
While we have a strong reputation, we remain a small business. Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to provide proactive updates to every client at every step of the process. This is why we typically provide updates only when requested. Each time you requested an update, we provided you one. We understand this may not align with your expectations, but it is important to note that this is not a service we’ve traditionally offered. As working owners, both ***** and ***** are deeply involved in the production of each piece. Constantly fielding calls for updates directly would detract from the time needed to focus on our work, affecting our overall productivity.
Regarding the size of your fish, it is important to ensure that it is being measured correctly. Since we received a poor ****** review *** *** * *** ********* ******** *** ***** * ******* instead of contacting us directly, we would have been able to go over this with you.
In terms of the lure snagging on the plastic during shipping, we take great care in packaging every display. We record videos of each display (including this one) being crated, and in this case, the hook was carefully wrapped in paper towel before the crate left our studio to prevent any damage.
We take great pride in crafting high-quality fish replicas, and despite the challenges we’ve faced, we believe we’ve delivered a beautiful Northern Pike display for you, representing the fish that you caught. As artists, it’s disheartening to invest so much time and effort into a piece only to receive this kind of feedback.
We genuinely appreciate your business and disappointed that instead of contacting us directly, you went straight to various forums ** ******* * **** ******. We would have been happy to discuss and address your concerns directly.

Well the only time you engaged with me was after I called/emailed due to the expected dates you provided had passed by. Don't get me wrong that all businesses run into issues but it is the way that this is handled at the customer level that matters. A quick email explaining or phone call would have made a huge difference. From the customers end we are left wondering if the project had started, where it is at, especially well after the completion date had past. The size of the fish is longer and the markings are not of the pictures provided not representing the fish that was caught toss in the loose mount, tail got rubbed, hook tangled up in plastic etc. Talk about disappointing, disheartening from our end when this arrived with no follow up from your end once we received it. Thought about contacting you on this but after 31 months we just had enough but this cant go unnoticed for others to be aware of. A simple office program to track customer items and effective efficient communication from office staff would be beneficial going forward. This would have very little impact on the artists time working on customer projects etc resulting in a more positive experience for all involved.

Thank you once again for your feedback. We truly appreciate hearing how we can improve our services.
As you mentioned, we responded to all of your inquiries, including addressing the multiple forums where you chose to leave negative reviews instead of contacting us directly.
While we value your suggestion for an internal system that would not impact the owners' time. Until the internal operations are understood, or how similar programs that have worked in the past, it’s not entirely accurate to state this as a solution.
Had you reached out to us directly even after the first forums poor review, we would have been more than happy to address any concerns or complaints you had, as we have consistently done in the past.
Many of the points you raised were addressed in our initial response, and we will leave it at that. It’s unfortunate that, especially after this wait and our communication with you, you didn’t choose to reach out to us directly.

Honestly how would you feel if the tables were turned? Your excited for this project, reach out and start this together, completion dates past with no contact from the business so you reach out and seems like excuses after excuses, some valid and some not, this happens not once but multiple times extending the project from 8-18-31 months and each time you do reach out for an update because it passed the expected completion date from the company and you didn't hear from them, it gets old real quick so when you get the project back and there are issues with the mount as indicated in the reviews you are just too frustrated and tired with the whole project from the get go so you do the right thing and put out two reviews just to make sure others can be made aware of possible issues and make decisions from there. You are right it is very unfortunate, many don't say nothing and move on but this is something that needs to be made aware of and hopefully the customer service improves going forward. Now the office tracking system is not hard to implement, will give you better accuracies regarding the various projects as they move along and customer service which is a win win for all. If not familiar with these types of tracking programs reach out as there are many people who can sit down and set it up to exactly what you want to see and are available to assist later on.
