Date of Project: April 28-30, 2022 Amount Paid: $2825 on April 29, 2022 Contractor was hired to supply a concrete overlay on our existing front porch. After the initial concrete work was completed we were informed that the concrete had to be sealed or else they would not be able to warranty the job. By this point the company was paid in full as we were assured by the contractor that the sealer was just a finishing product and would not alter the look of the concrete other than possibly darkening the colour slightly. Once the sealer was applied however the look of the porch was completely altered as evident by the attached pictures. The sealer was not uniform as I was made to believe and instead was a mix of dark swirls, blotches, white spots, dark spots and drip marks on the vertical areas of the foundation. The sealer was also carelessly spilled on our existing landscaping products (step, garden bed) and was not cleaned properly. When we approached the contractor to come by the house and remove/repair the improperly applied sealer he originally agreed however he never showed up to the house and then began to ignore all follow up phone calls and texts. After several days of trying to contact the contractor to resolve the issue, he eventually responded to a text on May 4 saying there was nothing further he could do. On May 5, after texting him pictures of the unsatisfactory work he replied by text agreeing to refund me the full contract price as a resolution. However this refund was never issued and since this point, the contractor has resumed ignoring of all of my efforts to contact him by phone/text.
