Our *** washing machine needed a repair (water valve replacement). We called the *** North American Service company (from the *** website), who directed us to Euro Appliance Services (EAS). - EAS told us that the call out would be $150 call out + parts & labour. They did not tell us how much labour would be. - They did not mention that it would be likely that additional work would need to be done (replacing carbon brushes), yet they came with these and told us about it when they arrived. They were to get approval before going ahead with the work. - After taking the washing machine apart, at THIS point they informed about the need for new carbon brushes, but by then we would already have had to pay for the labour of taking the machine apart (& putting it back together again (which is what the call-out fee should cover). - At no point did they quote on the cost of labour. - ******************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** - They did not mention that the call-out was in addition to labour (the technician was at our house for under 1 hour and 20 minutes). - They have charged us for shipping. Date of transaction: 17th November 2021 Amount we paid: $964.42 CAD Amount in dispute: $150+$380+25 = $555 ($150 call-out fee. $380 for 1hr20mins labour. $25 shipping. Nothing was shipped). We would settle with paying $150 of this charge. We want $380+$25=$405 refunded. Did the business try to resolve the problem? No. We called the business this morning to discuss these high charges (essentially they charged $398.50/hr for labour) **********************************************************
