    I contacted: Pauls Walls and Sons Inc., (**************************************************************************************** ************, ******************************************************** GST/HST Registration No.: *********) for the addition of an attached garage and Mudroom. I received a written estimate of $89,693.35 (HST Incl), My total available budget was $100,000. I gave them a deposit and they started the work.They started to build the garage and added 2'8" and a new roof to the house without approval. I asked if this will increase the cost and they answer me: no extra cost and that it was included in the estimate.I started paying the invoice, (Total paid $94,423.26) but stop as soon as I realize it was going to be over the estimate +10%.They later requested an extra $11K and I verbally agreed for a maximum of $100,306.65.The next invoice on Sep 9 was for $15,594.29 and I did not pay.They stop the work then ask me to pay the remainder for a Total of $136K to complete the garage. After negotiation they lower the cost to $100K + HST but with less work done then the written estimate.They send me an other invoice on Oct 2 for $9288.11 and I did not pay.Due to pressure and trying to have the project completed I was willing to go to $105,613.30 I believe it is unfair, as a costumer to pay 17% over the written estimate without any changes agreement and without the job done *** the agreed contract.

    This particular project involved a full garage and mudroom addition. As sometimes happens with custom construction, there were unforeseen factors and client-requested changes during the build that required clarification and adjustment along the way. While there were early misunderstandings about scope and cost, both parties maintained respectful communication, and were pleased to confirm that everything has since been resolved amicably.


    The client remains satisfied, the project is moving forward toward completion, and both sides agreed on a fair and reasonable outcome.


    Our companys goal has always been simple: to deliver quality workmanship, clear communication, and solutions not disputes. When challenges arise, we take the time to meet with our clients directly, review the details together, and find a resolution that everyone is comfortable with.

    I am not fully rejecting this response because: As stated in the business reply we are still working on the project completion.

    An extra $6K was paid and so far one door and a window was installed in the last 20 days.

    I have no complaints on workmanship at this time. My only concern is more unexpected extra cost without both parties agreement or unreasonable time to complete.

    Pauls Walls representative appears to be sincere and I really hope that this project will be completed within a reasonable period of time.
