Was not told about damage , they made sure that I paid to have ring resizes then just handed me the ring. He said he tourched it and a big story about this is normal and I should go back to company. I did and they said no competent jeweller would torch it. I never told them about tourch . Went back and said I knew mistakes happened but I was not paying for their mistake. He had said diamonds and gold were worth 2000.00 so I said I paid 1588.00 so he could have the ring for that amount or pay for a replacement. He was enraged and started to Hollar at me. He was going to sue me and win, get his lawyer after me. At one point he said I should just get a gun, I asked if he was threatening me and he said no to use it on him. It went on for while blaming me ,the company I purchased from Etc. I said there was no reason to scream as I did not raise my voice well at that point he started to scream to get out now so I leftBusiness response

When ****** ******* a regular customer at our business brought in her
Ruby ring to be sized the only things she told us was that she had
bought it on line and had paid $ 1588.00 for it . The ring was sized
using normal jewellers practice ,in that the stone was packed in heat
shield the shank cut a piece of gold inserted and heat applied with a
torch to solder in place . On the MOH's scale 10 being the hardest stone
a Ruby is a 9 therefore unless told different a jeweller would size
exactly as we did . When she came to pick up the ring I mentioned the
flaws in the stone to her however she did not respond just paid her bill
and left . After she got outside in the sunlight and looked at her ring
she saw the flaws and came back in to ask me about them . I asked if the
Ruby was enhanced or filled and she said she did not know . I explained
to her that is what it looked like to me .I also showed her several
articles explaining this . After she got home and looked at the
certificate that came with her ring she called and told me the stone was
filled .
When a stone is enhanced or filled unless told a jeweller has no way of
knowing this .If we are told in advance we would advise the customer
that the stone would need to be removed from the setting in order to
prevent the substance used to fill the stone from coming out .This would
incure additional costs of approx. $125.00 plus sizing .
When she came back the next day she asked ***** to speak up and now says
he was hollering ,I was not here so can neither deny or confirm .
If you need more info ****** Enhanced or Filled stones for perhaps a
better explaination
