Among the many complaints, consumers consistently noted the failure of the business to deliver automobiles as contracted; and the failure to refund fees for services that were not completed
On October 11, 2018 BBB wrote to Auto Rail Forwarders advising the business of the receipt of multiple serious complaints submitted by consumers and requesting that the business implement at least three steps toward eliminating the business practices that lead to these complaints.
After receiving no response, BBB sent a second letter on November 7th, 2018. Once again we have received no response from Auto Rail Forwarders.
BBB strongly urges consumers to do careful and extensive research before hiring a company to ship a vehicle.
As a consumer, it is important to know how to choose a reputable and reliable auto transport company. Doing so will help you to avoid scams that prey on those shipping their vehicles long distances.
Before you choose an auto transporter it's important to do you research and know what to look out for and beware of. The BBB offers the following tips:
Avoid doing business with any company that wants your payment sent through a wire transfer service. Legitimate companies ask for cheques or credit cards not wire transfers.
Carefully examine the company's website. Look out for spelling mistakes, poor grammar and typographical errors. Real companies generally avoid having a large number of mistakes on their websites. Websites with multiple spelling mistakes or grammatical errors were probably hastily put up by a fraudulent company.
Do as much research as possible and obtain several quotes before choosing a company to entrust your automobile with.
