I agree to a modified contract with spray net *** ** which the company also agreed to to paint and refinish my kitchen cabinets.
Services were supposed to be provided on December second 2024. The project was delayed and not completed until early January 2025. As the company knew I was away and agreeable to proceed I made a key available to them to access the property. They were aware I would not be able to be there to move appliances and it was agreed the company would do this.
My neighbour also was checking on my house and noted the kitchen to be 24 degrees during the project but I had set the thermostat on 14 degrees. She also noted a smell in my fridge after the contractor had been there. When I returned home,December 18 th 10 PM I noticed a smell in my fridge and the temperature on the kitchen thermostat read 22 degrees. On December 19 was contacted by the company requesting complete and final payment. I told them I had not yet had time to review the job and will need more time. On inspection, garbage had been left in my porch, hardware was left in my porch and the drawers were not cleaned of sawdust. I communicated this and sent pictures to the company.
I noted all my frozen food had obviously thawed and refroze taking the shape of the bins and racks in the freezer. My oil tank was empty (previously half full) I called to request an emergency oil delivery fill up.Some further adjustments were needed on the kitchen work itself. Painting and repairs were requested and completed, however this took several days due to scheduling conflicts. after that was completed, I noted paint on my kitchen faucets and on personal items in the kitchen. I communicated my concerns and requested an adjustment in the price given the loss of food items and home heating fuel and general distress and clean up needed. Full payment was requested. I explained there was loss of groceries, fuel and a mess left I had to clean up and wanted an adjustment.

We completed the work while S**** was away. As noted in our contract and is mentioned multiple times is our Standard Operating Procedures and customer checklists, the customer was made aware all appliances needed to be moved prior to our arrival. Customer requested small touchups upon arriving home, which our team came back in a timely manner to complete, to her satisfaction. In regards to the heat, S**** had her furnace serviced by ********** ***** while our team was there. Our crew is provided with IR lamps to help paint curing, therefore not needing to adjust the temperature in the home.

Once payment was due, M*** ****** would not respond to calls from myself, our Administative co-ordinator, our Operations Manager, as well as our salesperson. At this point, we will be sending ***** to collections for the remainder of the balance.

I am rejecting this response because:

it was clearly communicated to K** ********, Prior to accepting spray net services that I would not be able to move the fridge. He agreed to this, And that Spray Net Cabinets would do it upon their arrival.

I also noted, and it was accepted in writing in the correspondence to C**** **** prior to the job starting that I would not be moving the fridge and it was to be moved by Spray Net.
This was agreed to verbally and in writing by Spray Net. All items in my fridge had to be thrown out because it remained unplugged in my absence.
This was a cost to me created by Spray Net Cabinets. I’ve also had to clean up paint on my sink area and it remains on my stereo system After the touchups were complete.

I have been more than agreeable in this situation.
    Best regards, S**** ******

As per our Pre-job checklist in our Standard operating procedure, we confirm with customers that appliances are to be moved prior to our arrival. Our team is happy to help if needed, but it clearly states our team is not liable for any damages occurred. I also spoke with the Team lead assigned to the job, and he states the fridge was not left unplugged. We were originally blamed, without cause, for turning up her thermostat. When we could prove it was not our team who adjusted the thermostat, we are now being blamed for the fridge. We have started the process of a statement of claim and will begin the collections process on Monday.

Nature of the dispute: The paint started peeling off the top side of my house within the first few weeks (large chunks of paint - foot-long pieces) and is now peeling off the back of my house. I've submitted a complaint form on December 11 and was advised I'd hear back in 2-4 weeks. I emailed again January 22 and I still have not heard back from anyone at all.

    Morning,

Upon receiving this, I called the customer and spoke with her. I informed her that we have her on our list for touchups in the spring (as we cannot repair an exterior job in the winter). She was fine with this and I mentioned to her that we will ensure the job is completed to her satisfaction. Thanks and have a good day

I have heard back from ****** ******* who apologized for not receiving any of my communications. He has advised the work will be fixed in the Spring as the work is weather dependant
