Hello, Vehicle: Grand Dodge Caravan 2019 Servicer: Steele Chrysler Service no: SO # 351997 I am writing in the hope that you can assist with the repair of our only family vehicle at Steele Chrysler on the Bedford Highway, Halifax. Our only family vehicle was at Steele Chrysler on 24th October 2023, for a service order SO #351997. That service has not yet been completed. The car remains at Steele Chrysler. We are in 2024 and we are no nearer to having our only car returned. The numerous delays have been due to: - Incorrect parts being ordered to perform the service on a number of occasions. - Insufficient technicians being available to perform the service. - Ongoing engine lights post service delaying vehicle return. I have had many conversations with the service team and have spoken of our many difficulties in arranging alternative transport as this is our only vehicle. We were promised this would be attended to as quickly as possible. That has long ceased being the case. We have requested but not received any assistance or courtesy vehicle. We cannot get around without a vehicle and are now suffering due to no fault of our own. Our previous communications to Steele Auto via the website and *** customer care have gone unanswered. We remain without a vehicle and would like assistance with this matter as we find ourselves suffering due to no fault of our own.Business response

I am rejecting this response because:
it does not address the delays by the servicing team at Steele Chrysler such as incorrect parts, having no service technicians etc. This job was meant to be completed in Oct 2023 not January 2024. Furthermore the *** representative was extremely helpful in following up and obtaining parts when they were unable to be sourced by Steele Chrysler.Initial Complaint

I had my trucked worked back in March . I was told that my axles were needed to be replaced because of the boots being ripped. When they went to replace my axles they said that they were seized into my front differential. So they had to replace that as well . Come to find out that this was not the case my axles were not seized into my differential at all . The mid shaft was seized to the axle. After looking into this I found out that they could have just changed the boots for a fraction of the price or they could of put a new mid shift in .They changed out a good differential and axles .Business response

Further to our conversation regarding the case of ******* **** BBB Complaint ID# 17137139,
My Service Manager ****** ***** has spoken to the customer ****** **** on a couple of different occasions regarding the repair that was done here at Steele Chrysler.
****** has also called 2 other reputable Chrysler Dealerships in the area and asked their opinion on the procedure followed to repair this rear axle and differential. Both dealerships agreed they would have followed the exact same procedure as we took to do the repair. On Howard’s last conversation with ****** approximately 10 days ago, he informed him that we had called the other dealers to seek their opinion as well and he suggested to ****** that he was welcome to call a third Chrysler dealership in the area to obtain a 3rd independent opinion on this repair. He then stated he need a couple of days to think about it and that he would get back to us. We have yet to hear back from him.
To this point ****** was getting his advice or opinions from a smaller independent shop. The tow truck driver was actually the person that came into our dealership and asked for the repaired parts which were a rear axle and the rear differential as I believe he was the one who was being help responsible for the damage and it would appear he told the customer that we had done the repair incorrectly.
At this point we have not heard back from ****** Cook.
