I purchased a new ********** fishing boat from the dealership...didnt haggle on the price at all, my salesman agreed to have all my electronics installed on my new boat free of charge as part of the deal.(fishfinders, trolling motor, battery chargers)....this is a high end fishing boat, $83999+tax for the boat...another $15000+tax for electronics(purchased elsewhere as dealership doesn't sell it) the salesman used to be a tournament fisherman himself and knew what i was getting into....after I purchased the boat and tried it for first time there was a list of things not working on it...they never water tested the boat...

-missing rubber rod holder on 1 side
      -stereo didn't work
-7" ****** screen wasnt hooked up to motor as it was supposed to be(this screen came with the boat as the boat has no analog traditional gauges, so it displays the temp, voltage, tachometer etc for the motor)
-they removed the front navigation light pole "port" to install my trolling motor, but refused to move it to a new spot, so now i have a light pole i cant use)
-my new trolling motor they installed with a quick release bracket that I never asked for instead of the one it came with, so its not as secure
-the trolling motor live scope transducer(its an add on made by garmin, goes perfectly with the ****** trolling motor i purchased) they installed completely incorrectly...cord hanging down (it was supposed to be installed inside the motor shaft so it DOESNT hang down
-the live scope transducer was attached to the trolling motor with a metal hose clamp...this transducer was made to he installed on this trolling motor, theres a special bracket and spot for it and they just installed it the quickest way they knew without reading the installation manual)
-installed my battery charger in a highly inconvenient place, and refused to move it to a usable location...also I was told 24v would be enough, and it isnt. When I bought the batteries to go 36v they refused to change it.

      Business Response

      Mr ***** purchased a new 2025 ********** Comp 185X for
83,999 and traded a 2014 Legend X18 with 550 hours in rough to fair condition
which we allowed him 22,000 as a trade in value.
We agreed to a PDI (pre delivery inspection), and a standard
install for all equipment shipped with the boat from the factory. We also
agreed to Install a customer supplied 10” Helm mounted ****** and a 12” Bow
mounted ****** and trolling motor with on board battery charger at no
additional cost. The helm mounted ****** was working prior to Mr ***** picking
up and driving it to Moncton from Fredericton, perhaps the plug in the back of
the unit was not pushed in far enough and came disconnected. The additional
work would involve an additional 8+ hours labor in our shop. We typically do
not install customer supplied equipment, but we made an exception in his case
in the interest of customer satisfaction.
2 days after Mr ***** picked up his boat, he called to
explain the helm ****** screen was not functioning properly. We had scheduled
to pick up his boat in Moncton to bring to our shop in Fredericton for repair
at no cost to him. He explained he wanted to use the boat to fish and would
drop the boat to us instead. It was returned to our shop and repaired at no
      charge.
The light pole can not be installed at the front of the boat
now that there is a trolling motor installed where the customer had requested.
However, there are two navigation lights on either side of the front of the
boat. We would not want to drill a hole to install the light in a new location
as it would require modifying the boat and we do not modify boats.
The trolling motor was installed with a quick release
bracket, which is generally seen as a bonus. If the trolling motor were bolted
to the front of the boat there would be no way to easily remove the trolling
motor, also you would not be able to install a mooring cover over a permanently
      installed trolling motor.
Running the cable up through the trolling motor requires it
be taken apart or modifying, we do not modify boats or boat accessories. We
follow the installation instruction we use on every boat we sell. The metal
clamp we used was the clamp that came with the trolling motor supplied by Mr
      *****.
The battery charger was installed in the compartment
adjacent to the batteries. The nearest and best possible location for the
charger to be located. This is the install we use for every and all boats we
      sell.
Mr ***** has now requested we change out his battery charger
and batteries to a 36V system (3 batteries vs 2 batteries) as he feels it is
not enough power. The boat Mr ***** traded with us had a 24V set up. His
trolling motor is 24V, we installed 2 12V batteries for 24V power per Mr
*****'s original request as we would in every case for a 24V trolling motor.
Our Service Manager and General Manager were hesitant to complete the battery
and charger upgrade as they did not feel it was necessary. However, we can make
an exception and install the customer provided batteries for Mr ***** at no charge.

      Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:

Are they offering to do battery upgrades now? And does that include both chargers or just one? I dont trust them if they dont write it clearly exactly what they agreed to. And what about my proper trolling motor installation? Nav light port? This is too late and too much stress. I have an appt at basspro for them to do it properly this week. ********* should pay for this appt, this has been too much hassle and they've only agreed to do part of what we agreed on.

      Business Response

      Date: 18/08/2025

As stated in the first reply, we can install the customer supplied upgraded batteries and charger at no charge.

      As
for the port light, the installation of the trolling motor covers the
factory port light location. Where it is a high end fishing boat it is
equipped with two nautical lights on either side of the bow.

      We
install the quick release bracket for the trolling motor on 100% of all
boats sold in our stores. This has been viewed as a bonus as it allows
the boat owner to remove the trolling motor and install the mooring
cover when not in use. If Mr ***** would rather have a permanent install
we can remove the quick release bracket and install the trolling motor
      permanently to the boat.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 18/08/2025

I am rejecting this response because:

I purchased this boat in good faith that the dealership would have it set up the way I wanted it in regards to electronics, as agreed upon. I paid full price.  Im done arguing about this, its not worth the stress. My friends/coworkers will be directed to purchase elsewhere as pattersons doesn't seem interested in rectifying the issue, just rehash points that don't matter. (My boat condition(has no bearing, a deal was made) Giving me a PDI(included in price), nav port(simple fix)
