The date the Smart Movers moved my husband and I to our apartment was March 24, 2023. We are both seniors in our late 60's. We had contacted Smart Movers in February to book March 24 for our move. I talked to **** ***** on the phone to ask for a quote and to ask for a discount, he told me it would cost us $145 an hour. We would be available for an ex-military discount but not a senior's discount. The amount we were charged for the move is $1755.00. The 2 young guys who moved us arrived at 11:10am and finished the job at 11:30pm. Never did we expect to be charged that amount. We were not given an invoice nor a receipt. NO DISCOUNT was given to us either. We are very disappointed in this moving company. **** ***** lied to us by saying we would be getting a discount. We have moved several times due to my husband's postings during his 24 yrs in the military. We have seen many professional movers in those 24 yrs. but these 2 young guys did not meet the criteria of professional movers. Who takes 12 hrs to move a 2 bedrooms, 1 sofa for living room, 4 chairs, 1 dinning room set with 8 chairs, 3 dressers. There was no appliances to move at all. Had about 20 med size boxes. We are beyond disappointed in this moving company. We would like to get our discount that we were told we would get. An invoice and a receipt. We have no records of this company moving us. Are they legitimate?
