I got Winter Tires installation from this business on Dec 15,2024 on my 2023 F150 pickup truck. My rims were dirty so I did not realize scratch marks on them. I get my truck washed on Dec 18,2024 then I realize that 3 out of 4 rims were badly scratched. I inform the business right away and I was told that their manager( *****) was not in and will call me back on Dec 19. I did not get any call from them. I called in the evening on Dec 18,2024. I was told by the manager that they will look for the recorded footage to check if this was done by them. I did not get any response for about 3 to 4 days. I called again then i was told that you have to visit their location to get them checked visually. So i visited in the last week before the starting of holidays. Manager took the pictures of the rims and untill now I am still waiting for their response. I paid $****** to get my tire installation. This is my leased brand new truck. I want my rims to be replaced with same or I need equal amount of compensation. Please help me out.Business Response

As we are not members of the BBB I was not going to communicate through the website as we have dealt directly with the customer. As it stands we have made arrangements with the customer to have the rims sent out to be fixed in the spring when we have his vehicle back to do his winter tire changeover.
Thank you.

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. As I have told by the manager that he will get my 3 of my rims repaired to my satisfaction. I will see him in spring. If I found the repair done to my satisfaction, i will seek nothing else otherwise they have to change all 3 rims .
Sincerely,

After seeing the sales ad, I went to the store to purchase new tires for my 2005 GMC Jimmy to replace the original equipment Goodyear Wranglers (82,000km) no such luck. A week later the sale continued, I returned and bought a set of tires. I assumed to be comparable to my originals.Business Response

I do remember this customer and we have spoken to him multiple times. My employees and myself and the GM. He has an older vehicle and the tires that he wanted don’t come in his tire size so we gave him other options that do fit his vehicle and that would be closest to his original tires. We got him the price of the Bill and he agreed and signed the document. The Original document was for $******* which he signed for. * *** **** *** * **** ** *****
The Customer did not want to pay for the bill once the work was complete. Saying he was given a written estimate by hand and not typed (which we don’t do) saying it was “ supposed to be $**** and change”. We tried explaining to him repeatedly the tire that he wanted doesn’t come in his size and he was being very aggressive and telling us we must make him a tire that fits his vehicle. ** *** *** *** **** *** ********* ** ****** *** the price has decreased from the $******* to $******* because I still wanted to try to help him out, but he was still insisting he didn’t want to pay anything more than $****. He eventually paid the adjusted price , but he came back again the next day harassing my employees demanding we give him 1 free tire saying our advertisement in the flyer says “ buy 3 get 1 tire free” which we don’t advertise tires that way.
******** *** **** *** *** ******** ******** *** ******** ******* *** **** **** *** **** *** *** ***** ******* ****** *** *** ********* ********* ** ****. I would also like to add that the customer was accusing us of reprinting the document with his signature on it. Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because:On November
16, 2023, I dropped off my 2005 GMC Jimmy at the Garden City Canadian Tire
store to have my perfectly worn Goodyear Wrangler tires replaced with 4 General
Grabbers. I preferred to have the original equipment tires the Jimmy came with because
of their mileage they gave me (82372 kms). I checked with ******** and was
informed the tire was discontinued and the new version did not come in my size.
I then went across the street to have lunch. Incidentally, I notice on the bill
that the time in is 11a.m. not 12 o’clock my appointment time. After lunch (about
1pm) I returned to the service desk and was asked about the tire facing. I
choose the Blackwall. I then proceeded to check out the store until about 1
p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Then I returned to the waiting room in the garage section of
the store.
During my three-hour
waiting period, I looked into the garage a few times to see if my Jimmy was
being serviced. Even though the waiting room is three quarters glass I could
not see the entire garage. I waited for about 3 hours (4:28) before going to
the service desk to inquire, the nearest desk is about 15 feet from the waiting
room door. Did I become agitated, you bet, when I was told that they had tried
to reach me by only phone (a land line). No one had come into the waiting room
to talked to me, though a service rep had come in to talk to another customer,
but nobody had come to see me. At first there were only two of us in the room
and later four. *** ******* * *** ** **********
They then
proceeded to list all the repairs needed to the front end and the cost of the
tires. I was under the impression that I was getting 4 tires at 25% off and a front-end
alignment whether it was needed or not. The tires are aligned so why not go
with a front-end alignment to match. I would like to add that the original equipment
tires lasted 82372 Kms (50000 miles) and were evenly worn down as I can attest
to having pumped them up repeatedly in the few winters at eye level. A few
years ago, this same store checked out my tires, repaired them and remounted
them.
At this time,
I would like to add that I have had to pump up my new tires several times on
several occasions and different tires. I suspect tire mounting is to blame the
low tire conditions in winter rather than aluminum wheel shrinkage. My original
equipment tires did not give me any trouble for the first 10 or 12 years of usage.
When the tire problems began a few years ago, I had this particular store check
them, repair them and mount them again. Leaking valves were the cause plus a
couple of nails. I don’s recall any need for a front-end alignment.
After a one
hour heated discussion, the manager deleted the unnecessary front end repairs
but not recommended front end alignment ***** ***** ***** *** ******* ** ** **** *** ******* He would not do a front-end alignment without the repairs. He accommodated
me by letting buy tires without the front-end alignment that I had requested.
So to retrieve my Jimmy I paid in bill. I did not get the tires they promoted
in their sales promotion 25%off. ****** * ********** * ***** *** *** **** *** **** ****** ** *** ***** ** ** **** ** **** ******
