    -Purchased a battery August 16th 2023
-Cost of battery was $****** -Had issues with car not starting the last couple of weeks when weather was colder.
-Had to get a boost 3-4 times and thought maybe I needed a new alternator because I had just purchased a new battery.
-Made an appointment at my regular mechanic garage to fix the problem.
-He informed me that it was not the alternator but the battery was not good and that he replaced the battery.
-I told him I just bought the battery from the battery man 3 months earlier.
-He told me to go back and get a refund.
-I brought the battery back and told him it was faulty and I would like a refund. He said it has a 50 month warranty and that they do not give refunds on warranty items. I told him I think that's not reasonable since I took it to a garage and that they said the battery was faulty and replaced it so I should get a refund and they should also get credit from their supplier.. He said he would test and assess the problem and let me know, but he could not do that now because the battery had to be fully charged and he would let me know the next day. I went to get my refund the next day but he refused and said the battery is fully charged now. I told him that's unacceptable and he basically said that's the way it is. I told him, so now you take a day to charge the battery so in effect you are giving me a reconditioned battery to which he replied, I don't know what you left on the lights or the radio etc., saying it's my fault. He said I should have brought him the battery in the first place. I told him, what if I was out of town and this happened, he said I should do the same thing, bring it back, because it's under warranty. * **** **** ** *** ***** **** ******** *** ****** **** ********* ** *** ** ** ***** **** * ******* ******* ******* ** *** ***** ** *** ***** ***** ******* ** * ****** ******** **** ****** ***** *** ** ********* **** *** ********** *** ** **** **** ** ** *** ** ***** ******* ***** * ****** **** *** ****** **********

Hello, regarding the complaint ID ********. The customer brought in the battery which was purchased in August of 2023 in a discharged state. We told him that it would need charging first in order to test the battery, which is standard procedure. We requested an invoice as proof of purchase but he had none, thusly we searched to find one. We charged the battery and it charged up perfectly and we called him to please come pick up his battery. He came in and a staff member took care of him and told him the battery was quite good and he could take his battery back. It was at this point that the customer demanded a refund. The staff member said, the battery is perfectly fine and there was no need for a refund or a warranty exchange. The customer was not happy and made disparaging  comments to the staff member and left. There was no need to refund or replace a good battery. It was obvious something had ran the battery down and we charged it and sourced an invoice at no cost to the customer, which was not only fair but our policy. First, there is no refunds on battery purchases only exchange on warranty and this was not a warranty as the battery in question is good. Why would there be a warranty or refund on a good battery? We have always maintained integrity and top notch service to our customers for the past 37 years and we believe we did here as well.
