********************************************************************** I'm writing to file a complaint about my experiences with Lansard Brothers Roofing Limited, ****************************************************************************** *********************************************************************************************************************************************** In May 2019 I hired Lansard Brothers Roofing Limited to replace the roof on my townhouse located at ************************** Over the winter I observed that there were large icicles hanging and ice buildup on the eavestrough. Additionally my home was noticeably colder than before the roof was replaced. In May of 2020, I contacted Lansard Brothers and reported the issues and asked them to send someone out to follow up. An employee of Lansard came out and inspected the roof and found some issues with portions of the shingles. Subsequently another employee came out and I was told the repairs were completed. Late spring of 2020 my basement began to flood as a results of the water runoff from the ice buildup on the eavestrough. I contacted Lansard on a number of occasions and was treated poorly by the employees answering the phone. **************************************************************************** Spring of 2021 I experienced the same issues i.e. Icicles and ice buildup on the eavestrough. I once again called Lansard about the issues and they finally sent out a representative to my house. I observed that the representative did not go onto the roof but rather stood on the driveway and took pictures from that position. I followed up with Lansard as the issues were not resolved and a female employee answered the phone and responded in a rude and disrespectful manner and told me that there was nothing wrong with the roof and I needed new insulation and there was nothing else the company can do. Note that I contacted a 3rd party to check the insulation and was told I did not need additional insulation. Prior to the roof being replaced in 2019 I never experienced the issue with icicles and ice buildup on the eavestrough ********************************************************************************************************** Note that according to the contract that I received from Lansard there is a 20 year warranty on the roof My desired outcome is that Lansard Brothers to do a proper inspection of my roof, fix any issues found and add appropriate drainage such as a downspout to prevent future ice buildup/icicles to enable proper drainage at no cost to me. ******************************** ***************************Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2021/08/23) */ Regarding this job. It was done in August of 2019. We have been out here 8 times since we originally did the work to try and accommodate. We originally ran her trough/downpipes to best suit water flow but she insisted on another downpipe in another location, which we went back and did (at no charge). We have installed 2 types of flashing to help direct the water into the trough - drip edge and a divertor (all at no charge). An issue she has with the structure is that the overhang of her roof is sagging - not a roofing issue, it's a build issue, but we installed those flashings to help try to direct the water better instead of it draining down the side of the roof that's leaning. She has said that since the roof was done her house is colder than it's ever been, and we're not sure what to do with that. That's not a shingle or trough issue. She says she gets icicles in the winter (which can happen to any home for various reasons: heat loss, trough has frozen water in it and on a warm winter day as the snow melts off the roof and then freezes it leaves icicles hanging for a bit until they melt) and the water gets into her basement. But what confusing is she says to us that the water from the icicles goes into her basement but the water from snow melting on the ground or rain does not...we don't and cannot understand that. We also have never been called to actually get to inspect when there are icicles here. She calls us in April or fall time. Never when that "issue" is happening. I would like to know what exactly her issue is now. And is this issue on the front or back of the house? A shingle or trough issue? A picture from a distance and then up close of what she is unhappy with would help. It changes constantly and the issues are not because of poor workmanship or faulty materials. We stand behind our work and also always try to accommodate/go the extra mile for HO's. If there is something specifically we can fix or do we have no issue doing that.
