the 30 feet of basement crawlspace footing repair ******* *** Resisto didn’t
adhere except in a few spots as no primer was used. The cold joint wasn’t
sealed with mastic. The same employee installed the Risisto to the whole
basement the same and didn’t seal the joints. The contract states all cracks
and snap ties were to be patched. 2 cracks on the south wall were patched,
cracks on the east, west, and front walls were not. The snap ties were not
patched, when I asked the employee about the patching, he stated his boss said
he didn’t have to patch them.
******** ** anchors show no sealant on them and depth they go into walls. They drilled
holes for plastic anchors to hold insulation that went through the Rosisto and
***** ** negating any waterproofing. When water gets into those holes and
freezes it will damage the foundation, as the holes are below grade.
      All anchors
should be removed and holes patched. The cold joints need mastic applied around
the whole perimeter of the basement footing. Primer needs to be applied and new
waterproofing membrane applied as per manufacturers specifications.
      When jackhammering
was done in the basement to install braces, they didn’t seal off the work area
with tarps or poly or an exhaust fan. This resulted in concrete dust covering everything
in the basement, they should be responsible for cleaning it up.
      Since the
waterproofing was not installed properly water comes into the basement causing
black mold on wood plates of framed walls. Black mold needs to be cleaned st their
cost. 4 boards with mold need to be replaced at their cost.
      They can
redo the waterproofing or pay for it to be done. If snap ties and cracks not
done cost of it should be returned, as only cracks on south wall patched. East,
west, front walls and snap ties weren’t done as contract says they sere patched
and I was charged for. Cold joints have to be sealed for all basement. All
below grade anchors need to be removed and holes patched.
      All work needs
to be inspected to ensure it is completed properly. I may have missed some of the
work that needs to be completed, too many shortcuts were taken.
