Company I dealt with is Prelude Builders 13 Jordanas Run East St. Paul, MB R2E 0N6 Phone: 204 999 5904 Problem: Had a new front porch with 3 steps up installed. The two top steps have a 7" rise. The bottom step has a 9" rise by the house, and a 10 1/2" rise on the other end. The Winnipeg building code ************ says "The Building Code requires stair width to be at least 900 mm (36") and that treads and risers have uniform rise and run in any one flight with riser heights not exceeding 200 mm (8 in.) ....." So, I do not have a uniform rise and several people have stumbled on the last step, including me who is aware of this. I feel it is a definite hazard but short of hanging signage indicating the problem to have people aware, I don't know what to do. ******************************************************************************************* I might add that Luis, the company owner, said that the patio onto which the stairs land, is sloped for drainage .... fine, I can handle a 1 1/2" difference at 10 1/2" end, but the riser height should be equal at 7" by the house. Instead, there is an overall difference is between 2" and 3 1/2", which is incorrect. Thank you for your assistance in this matter. I look forward to hearing from you. Lois
