    This business is publishing information about my business without my consent. The information the have provided about my business on their site is not accurate and could cause harm to people seeking help and information and well as create issues for my business. I have asked for it to be removed and they have said they will not do so. I am asking for resolution

    To the Better Business Bureau,

    This message is in response to the complaint filed by ********* ********** We would like to confirm that the issue has been resolved as of yesterday, May 20, at 9:36 AM EST, with the removal of her clinic's listing from our website.

    We would also like to provide some clarification regarding our process and the communication leading up to this resolution. On May 19 at 12:34 PM EST, we sent a clarification to businesses and clinics that offer assistance to businesses, outlining our policy regarding business listings. This message stated:

    "Medimap publishes information about businesses in the health and wellness space so that consumers can find information about relevant local businesses. This information is not personal information and is typically a matter of public record and public concern. If the information regarding a business is correct, Medimap does not remove such information from its site. While we understand that some business owners might prefer to keep a low profile, its important (and a legal right) for consumers to be able to find and share helpful information about great local businesses.

    If you need to update or change the information about your business, we are more than happy to assist."

    Following this communication, we did not receive a response from Ms. ********** She subsequently sent another request to have her listing removed. Given this was her second insistence, we honored her request and removed her listing from our website yesterday, May 20, at 9:36 AM EST. Again, we did not receive a response from Ms. ********* after the removal, and instead, she reported us to the BBB.

    To further demonstrate the removal of Ms. *********** listing, clicking the original link for her clinic now redirects directly to Medimap's homepage. The original link was: ********************************************************************************************* For additional verification, please see the attached screenshot of the email confirming the listing's removal that was sent to Ms. **********

    We respect every clinic and strive to address all requests as quickly as possible to prevent escalation. We hope this explanation clarifies the situation and helps resolve this issue. Our primary goal is to assist patients in finding clinics in their area, and we are always open to correcting any information deemed inaccurate by a clinic.

    I am a registered health professional in ******. I recently became aware that Medimap.ca has a profile listed for my private practice. I did not partner with Medimap, and I did not consent to the creation of, nor the content included in the profile. The profile grossly misrepresents my practice, and puts me in breach of my ethical obligations for advertising as a registered health professional. I have reached out to Medimap several times over the past week to remove my profile and unfortunately the profile is still intact and viewable by the public.

    As per our Medimaps terms, Medimap publishes information about businesses in the health and wellness space so that consumers can find information about relevant local businesses. This information is not personal information and is typically a matter of public record and public concern.  If the information regarding a business is correct, Medimap does not remove such information from its site. While we understand that some business owners might prefer to keep a low profile, its important (and a legal right) for consumers to be able to find and share helpful information about great local businesses.

    I responded to the clinic owner, ****** and we have reached an agreement to update her information on our site as she was just unhappy with false information being displayed.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    I am not satisfied with the response from the business.

    I am relieved that the incorrect information, which had put me in breach of my ethical obligations as a registered healthcare professional, has been removed from the profile about my practice on Medimap.ca. However, the booking button and language used on the Medimap website imply a partnership between Medimap and myself that does not exist. I have also communicated directly with Medimap on several occasions by email (July 23, 2024 at 10:39 EDT and July 25, 2024 at 10:13 EDT), and requested in firm language that the profile for my practice be taken down. I continue to request that Medimap remove the entire profile for my practice from Medimap.ca.
