Date January 11th, 2023, roughly 40,000$ (approximately).**** committed to provide me a full education within a 72-week program, with an expected 85% employment rate afterwards plus 6 months of employment aide following graduation.Advised by Private Training Institutions Student Support due to being outside the 1-year timeframe to dispute, to either seek it in "British Columbia Small Claims Court", which makes no sense, or the BBB.Extra-Long Story Short (more information can be provided, plus emails and screenshots):Lack of teachers extended the end-date of the program well beyond the original promise, "instructors" were not instructing but instead advising to use public resources such as ******** Reddit, and ****** instead, "instructors" were ignorant, dismissive, lying during presentations, and targeted students they didn't like (ex. I attempted to ask a question, and multiple times was told "We'll get to you", but they never did, or one instructor was advised by MULTIPLE students of another students preferred name/gender, but the instructor continued to harass them by intentionally using their birth information instead), I was told how to do my Student Loans by their *************** then a few months later claimed "I didn't pay for the upcoming semester" because the money came to me instead because they advised the incorrect steps (this in turn led them to "give me a ***** as an exception" to cover up their mistake which I pointed out), they hired instructors that were in no way eligible for the job/programs they were assigned (who admitted they were not trained in it, and in turn changed programs mid-class), they ended my term early to forcibly graduate me (I have emails about this and the confusion I had), amongst other issues.I've tried local legal aid, as well as legal aid in **, to no avail. I've tried the **** program to dispute a similar issue (almost 1:1 to my own, I have a PDF of this), to which they told me to contact you.

The last official documentation I have between myself and VCAD was officially Thu, May 2, 2024, 4:18?PM
The last official documentation I have between myself and a thirdparty regarding VCAD was Fri, Sep 6, 2024, 4:32?PM which is where they advised me to contact either Small Claims about an amount >25,000$ (for some reason), or contact BBB about this. The only reason I'm just now bringing this up with BBB is because I'm currently in Career Councelling where they advised that I should seek this out to get it cleared, as the Student Loans went towards an institution that didn't teach me, and they would recommend getting the money back so I can use it towards local learning for another career. To add to this, I was disheartened because I had only found out about their dispute process from a friend that also went to this school who ALSO got the same misguidance treatment, but it was already outside my 1 year disputing period.

I understand that technically, it says "regarding this issue" but unfortunately, there were numerous issues, all within the handful of screenshots I was so far able to provide. Additionally, I've attached a copy of their own business receipt regarding the laptop they promised vs the laptop they inevitably sent everyone, being completely different in terms of specs which are not compatible with the services we were inevitably going to use. I've also attached a copy of my initial enrolment letter, outlining the expected graduation date compared to the actual graduation date which was January 2023. I can provide further evidence if needed.

I've attached my last three school-related correspondances to this response. Not all the information pertaining in these threads are related to this issue, but there were some key points regarding the Funding Issue/"Due Balance" Issue.  However, **** had nothing to do with the remainder of my complaint, including the staffing issues, the staffing attitudes, the mistreatment of myself and other students, the issues I had with the delays in education, the lack-there-of education (with a heavy reliance on things such as ******** ******, Reddit, etc.), and more. I've also attached a copy of a legal document outlining similar activity with another student around the same timeframe and exact same program, with similar issues that related to my own. They were also under fire for not having a valid certificate for an unspecified amount of time if this helps as well.

To put it lightly, I have no actual written documentation regarding my contact with **** regarding these issues, but I do have documentation of my attempts at consiliation between myself and VCAD, as well as contact between myself and local legal offices (I sent Contact Us forms through offices in ** but never heard back).

    Business Response

    Date: 23/05/2025

    Hello,

As per the signed Student Handbook, the student must contact the school directly if they have any concerns. Please direct the student to their Student Handbook wherein the steps are outlined.

I am rejecting this response because:

As outlined by my numerous emails regarding said complaint where I TALKED to the school, that's I've attached to my complaint, nothing was resolved.
So I reject the idea or notion of "following the signed student handbook" when I've already reached out to them through both the emails and the disputes form outlined on their site multiple times with no resolution.

Lawyers in both BC and ** gave advised either small claims which isn't logical as it's more than 25K, or BBB to resolve this matter.

This stain on my history is preventing me from getting proper education, which is in turn preventing me from achieving a career because of the outlined issues. So please correct what's wrong, so I can move on with my life.

    Sincerely,

    ****** *********

    Business Response

    Date: 26/05/2025

    Hello ******,

After reviewing your student file, it looks like all queries were handled in early 2024. Please review the Student Handbook regarding any steps if you have further questions. We will be closing the BBB inquiry from our end, as we do not use third parties to facilitate communication.

    Complaint: 23269450

I am rejecting this response because:

"They do not use third party services"?

I'm sorry but no, I disagree. These matters had been sent to them over the course of my "education" period THROUGH their student services as they've confirmed, with no real resolution. I've reported the instructors, the Financial issues, and more. Now that I'm being asked to follow a procedure I've already done because they refuse to make it public knowledge of their claims of being an "education system" when they've literally not handled the situation at all, and have similar recent complaints from other students as outlined by the *** I've attached with literally the same Program and time period.

Here's the issue: I've been tasked by the government and by a career councillor that in order to pursue further skills development in place of the LACK of development **** has done, I needed to provide evidence that there was a severe lack of education because the stain in my education history that was from **** is preventing me from seeking proper/further education. They have advised that I need to scrub this off my history or have documented evidence that VCAD neglected to provide proper education. Legal teams in both ********* have advised me that the best course of action, based on the same evidence I've sent here including the emails, screenshots, and such, is to seek out either Small Claims which isn't applicable as the amount exceeds 25,000$, or BBB. As per their request, I am doing what is asked.

By neglecting this application through the BBB, VCAD is neglecting their side, and in turn refusing to cooperate. If you choose to pursue this illogical thinking that "I need to remain internal" by going through the student handbook again, it WILL reflect badly on **** as they are disagreeing with a request from not only the government but the legal teams I've spoken to, which means should this be taken further beyond the BBB, this may count against VCAD should it be taken to a legal representative.

So again, I implore you, address and correct this matter. If you continue to refuse, I will be required to send this as evidence to a legal representative in ** who will in turn review it on their end.

I will not be going through the "student handbook" to address this again.

    Sincerely,

    ****** *********
