We booked this hall for our wedding and because of covid it got cancelled. We made a deposit of $1000(none refundable) then a payment of $2000 two separate times. Once we canceled the event we made an agreement with the hall to use the deposit money towards catering a small gathering at home. Then the other $2000 would be given back to us once it starts getting busy at the hall. Well now that they are getting busy. The person we had spoke to is on vacation and first we were told 1 week vacation which turned to 2weeks then at the end of it 2 months. Speaking to a new person they are saying they don't have the information that the original person does. We have photocopies of the contract with the hand written details of the payment. We also have the original receipt that we got when we opened our file with the deposit. Just told we are being told that he checked with his book keeper and that they don't owe us any money. And that because we payed in cash that we don't have any proff of payment. They request us to have a receipt to be able to prove that we payed but it is all in the photocopy of there original contract, In there files.
