I normally dont give reviews but I was impressed with Ashtons service and wanted to share my experience. Last November, after a pipe burst, ***** from Ashton recommended that I repipe my whole house because I had poly b pipes that needed to be changed. It was big job and their quote was on the higher end: However, I chose Ashton group because ***** was very knowledgeable, respectful and trustworthy. If I am to open my house to contractors; I want to make sure they know what they are doing and that I can trust them. They did not disappoint. ***** and *** worked on my contract for about a week. Each day they arrived, they were on time, accommodated my schedule, and were able to explain everything they were doing. They also left the place clean (they would vacuum each day before they left) and would wear shoe protectors when they entered the house. I appreciated that. There were no surprises and the project was done on time and on budget. It has now been over a month and I still have not any problems with my pipes. Even though their quote may be on the higher end of the scale, I felt it was a good investment as I received quality service and a true price from a team who was very pleasant to work with. Ive worked with Ashton multiple times over the last 2 years. They installed my hot water tank with no issue and in a timely manner. During that time, the plumber suggested we sign up for their membership which is 20$+ a month, and that would include free plumbing check up annually. As the house was getting to be old, I thought that would be a good idea. Fast forward to a year later, I never cashed in the benefits of this membership so I decide to cancel. I emailed their finance department to cancel but it took them over 2 months to do so. In the end, they completed this task only because I filed a transaction dispute with my credit card company. Recently, I hired them to fix my shower as it is not producing hot water. The plumber said there is a cartridge issue and requires replacement. The part was said to be back ordered. They quoted me $1200 and would not give me a detailed invoice, claiming it is per job. The plumber that inspected it said the job should take under an hour. I looked up the part online from the manufacturer and it only costs me 180$ which I then ordered and it was then shipped in 2 weeks. I then received a quote from another company for the job and was given the exact details ($/labour hr). The whole job ended up costing me less than 500$. I scheduled an inspections for my heat pump on Jan 18, technician no show until I call and found out that they are all backed up, came next morning and offered $50 discount for the inspection.Technician found out the motor was burned and verbally quoted approx $8,000 for replacing the motor / or $13,000 to replace the whole heat pump unit and the wait time is around 36weeks.I asked to email me the quote and invoice, which I got charged for $138.71 on Jan 19, never a email or follow up since the charges.Most interestingly I found a different company for a second opinion and got my heat pump fixed in two days and with a fraction of the original quote from Ashton, It wasnt even the motors issue, personally I will not use this company nor refer to any of my friends.Review from Sue J

Phoned, told them I was with a small strata wanted a 10gal electric H2O tank. Told they would come for no charge. Given a time after a weekend, window. 2-4, waited all day. They phoned an hour early would be here in 20 min. didn't come after 1 1/4 hours I phoned, oh they couldn't come as this was a commercial dept. not residential issue. Then got an email asking for credit card info and listing charges for min. I replied to email and said "don't bother we are going elsewhere". At 11 the next day saw their truck and received a call they were here! He couldn't tell me if there was going to be a charge for the visit. " I am just the technician". We both agreed to cancel. I had read some reviews both good and bad but decided to give them a try. What a waste of my time! I should charge them for a wasted day!Review from Andrew W

I had a HVAC system where heat pump stopped working. ***** **** ******* **** ***** *** * ***** *** ******* * *** ** ** ***** ** *** ** ********* *** ******** ** ** ***** **** ******** *** **** ***** *** *** ******* *** ****** **** ****** **** ** ***** I called Ashton, they sent their guy, spent 30mins diagnosing it and determining where it was, ordered the part (new transformer on the air handler), and a few days later I have heat again. This is the 2nd time Ashton have successfully repaired my HVAC system. They're always busy but for good reason...they get the job done. Won't be calling anyone else again in the future except them.Review from Anthony L

***** **** ******** Beware!! They offer a free estimate (many others don't) so we asked them to give us a quote. From the time the guy arrived he badmouthed my furnace, saying that it was a low end furnace. Told me that I needed a new gas valve and that it would take 6 months to get the part and cost $1200 installed. Told me twice that I should just get a new furnace because many of the other parts would soon start to go. He seemed to be more interested in selling m,e a furnace than solving my problem which was no heat in mid January. Blew him off. ****** ***** **** ******** *** *** *** **** *** ** ** * **** *** ******** ** **** ********** ** ***** **** **** *** ******* * **** ** * **** **** Don't be drawn in by these guys with their offer of a free estimate. ***** **** *** **** ****** ********* ******* Most evidence shown in the pics. Their ad says no travel fee, upfront pricing, so I signed a preauthorization with my credit card on it, ended up charging close to 600 dollars for about 1 hour of work, and gave me a bunch of excuses such as their GPS shows the travel times and is "industry standard" (so I should pay over thousands if the person comes from Kelowna?), and that I am dealing with their commercial department ***** ** ********* * *********** ******. Never told me I had to pay for travel fee/hidden fees when I booked. This isn't the first time I hired them and would be the last time. I even had to call my credit card company to file * ***** to get my money back. The technician wasn't there for over 30 minutes. Yes the tenant of the condo with HVAC issue forgot about the initial appointment and we agreed to pay the technician extra, but instead of charging me the actual time the tech spent in total, they charged me 4x the amount. I had another service request and ended up with over 300 dollars of charge, I should have investigated on that come to think of it.Customer Response

they all were excellent and well worth the slightly higher quotation from 2 other plumbers because they respond quickly to any problem and so far they have fixed them very quickly. *** *****Review from Jim

My AC was leaking water so I called for service. The tech arrived on June 24th. I did some internet research that AC leaking is usually caused by clogged pipe. The tech didn't check the clog. He did a quick check at the attic and then he said the problem is with the external AC. He claimed the AC is out of R12 which is not available anymore. Then he called a salesperson who gave a big price for replacement. The weather was very hot and I was very anxious due to this. Luckily I called another company. They did a check and fixed the clogged issue in 2 hours. **** **** *** ** *** ****** *** ***** **** **** *** *** *** **** ****** * I used the AC almost all the summer with no issues. I think it is fair to say the tech was not honest. He pushed to AC replacement instead of fixing it. So this company has a low service fee but they won't service you.
