    On Feb 15 2024, I paid a $4239.00 deposit to Blinds by Design to procure and install new blinds at my house. Earlier that day, he visited the house to measure the windows and show some samples. At the end he stated the price would be $4987.50 and would be ready within 4 weeks. We agreed to the price and delivery time. Then he asked for an 85% deposit by etransfer which I sent the same day. He said he would send us an invoice afterwards, but we never received any paperwork from him.It's been over 2 months now and he hasn't given us a delivery date or any proof that blinds have been ordered. After he received the deposit he has been very difficult to contact. Calls always go to voicemail and he hasn't replied to any voice messages. My wife has sent 17 texts and only received 3 short texts in reply since paying the deposit.     I hired *** in September to install ***** blinds at my new construction house. He said the turnaround time would be 2 weeks.Once the order was placed he asked for 75 percent deposit up front. We paid him $2000 up front.After weeks and weeks of waiting finally 2 months later he came to install my blinds and they are completely different than the colour we ordered. The trim is a dirty yellow while the fabric is white. We asked him to come to the site and have a look and he would not. He denied the blinds were incorrect even though he made zero attempts to come on site and have a look.Then he informed me there is nothing he can do. This guy is a pure con artist who doesnt even answer his phone or come to the site once he has your money. Beware of using this guy ** **** *** * *** **** *** ***** ***** blinds.

    On July 7, 2023, we paid a $5000 deposit to Dan C********* of Blinds by Design to supply and instal blinds for our new house. Installation date was arranged for August 25th. Partial instal took place the week of September 19th.; however, the majority of the blinds have yet to be installed. Since then we have had zero verbal contact with Dan C******** despite leaving numerous messages and texts. One text message on October 4th from Dan indicated 2 of the outstanding order would be here in 3 weeks but the remainder are still not not accounted for; which include 7 power blinds, with no indication of when they will be supplied and no response from Dan. The amount of money we have paid does not constitute value for the blinds we have received. We need to have Dan call us so we can discuss how to move forward.

    Hi

    Mr. ******* ordered a total of 26 roller shades.

    17 roller shades were installed 1 shade was not measured right and one was missing

    These 2 shades have been re ordered and will be installed as soon as they are made.

    Mr. ******* was advised that the remaining 8 could not be installed in the boxes on site

    because the shades were bigger than the small boxes made. I made him aware of this and told

    him that this was his problem . The $5000 deposit he gave us covers the 18 roller shades installed

    $4975.50 plus GST = $5224.28.  The remaining 8 can't be done by us and he was made aware of this

    The fabric he chose when all rolled up have a 6.5 inch diameter while valance boxes on site are 

    only 5.5 inches in diameter

    In conclusion the monies he gave covers the 18 blinds ( this incl one motorized with remote ) 

    that have been installed..Mr ******* also told the installer that he like both the quality and the

    installation of the blinds.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    Firstly, how can any discussion take place when Mr. C********* does not reply to telephone or text messages.  In regards to the two blinds that are on reorder, I did leave a message on his phone to clarify what type of blind was coming and he’s never replied.  Secondly, with regard to the motorized blinds for the main floor that are still outstanding and are a part of Mr. C*********’s contract to supply and install; prior to quoting the price for the blinds, he came to the house several times to check measurements and knew the size of the opening and did not indicate any problems at that time. Mr. C********* advised that the manufacturer of the blinds with the fabric we chose would be 6 1/2 inches but he was going to look for an alternate fabric that would be thinner and he would get back to us. He has never contacted us despite numerous phone calls and texts.

    We advanced Mr. C********* $5,000 deposit on a $9,475 contract.  As far as the cost breakdown is concerned, the main floor motorized blinds, which have not been supplied and make up the largest square footage and value of the contract would be valued at more than the $4,475 remaining to be paid.  So we do not agree with his statement the 18 blinds that he’s installed are valued at $5,000.  As far as we are concerned it is Mr. C*********’s responsibility to submit samples of a thinner fabric for our review and colour approval to complete this contract.  He also needs to communicate with us to advise the status and when we can expect a solution and completion of the remaining work.
