    Came to have my oil changed on Thursday July 17 and shortly after leaving to go on our road trip, there was a loud vibration and banging coming from under the truck. After an inspection i discovered they didn't reinstall the skid plate correctly, stripped out one of the bolts and left it hanging to and constantly banging the bottom of the truck. They did not notify me that they had an issue, and instead of fixing it or notifying me the sent me down the road. I can back to ***** lube after return from out trip on Saturday July 19th to see if they could fix it. They told me the damage they caused and used nylon zipties to secure the skidplate... I told them that it would have to be repaired and took it to a shop to do the repairs where the total came to $56.98 for them to replace the bolt and fix the threads. I contacted the owner of jiffy lube and they outright refused to pay for the repairs, lost mileage of 160km and time stating that he didn't believe that they did the damage and that there was no damage... I have photos and a repair invoice that proves otherwise.

    Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the complaint submitted by Mr. ****** **************. We take all customer feedback seriously and strive to address concerns in a professional and fair manner.

    Mr. ************** visited our Jiffy Lube location at *************************************************************** on Thursday, July 17, 2025, for an oil change service. As part of the service, the vehicles skid plate was removed and reinstalled. After his visit, the customer reported a vibration and banging sound, which he later traced to a loose skid plate.

    Mr. ************** returned to our location on Saturday, July 19, to report the issue. At that time, our manager was temporarily out of town. To prevent further damage in the short term, our staff secured the skid plate using nylon zip ties and explained that proper reinstallation, including re-tapping the threads, would be completed once the manager was back.

    When speaking with Mr. *************** we offered to re-tap the threads and resolve the issue in-house at no charge. However, he declined the offer and chose to take his vehicle to a third-party repair shop instead. He later returned with a repair invoice totalling $56.98 and requested reimbursement.

    Our Position:

    While we cannot definitively confirm whether the thread damage occurred during our service, we did offer to complete the necessary repair work ourselves. Unfortunately, that offer was declined.

    That said, as a gesture of goodwill and in the interest of resolving this matter amicably, we are willing to reimburse Mr. ************** for the $56.98 paid for the external repair, pending a copy of the official paid invoice. However, we cannot reimburse for additional claims such as mileage or time, as those were not discussed or agreed upon prior to the external repair.

    Next Steps:

    Please have Mr. ************** provide a copy of the paid repair invoice if he has not already done so. Upon receipt, we will promptly issue a reimbursement by E-transfer.
