On ***** 3rd, 2023, the sale of my townhouse in ********** ** completed. The buyer used ********* to handle the transaction/as their legal representative. As part of the sale, the entire month of ***** strata fees plus a $25 "NSF" holdback was done by *********. As the sale completed ***** 3rd, my portion of the fees for the month of ***** was for three days. The full amount of monthly strata fees was successfully withdrawn from my account via auto-debit by the *********************************** I confirmed this with the Property Manager in early *****, and they advised me that they would contact ********** to advise that the holdback could be released to my lawyer. I asked my lawyer to follow-up and request the holdback to be released. On ***** 29th, I emailed ********* to inquire about the holdback as it had not been released to my lawyer. No response was received. On May 15th, 2023, I contacted ********* by phone to inquire about my holdback. I was transferred to "******* or ********" who apparently represented the buyer of my unit. Upon being transferred to ******* by reception, I identified myself by name, and explained that she represented the buyer of my unit, and that I was inquiring about the status of the holdback of my strata funds. Three times she asked me if I was their client and three times I said "no", but as they are holding my funds, I did not see the relevance of this question, and simply wanted my funds released as the Strata said they informed ********* that they could do so. ******* told me that my lawyer would need to contact them and hung up on me. My lawyer has contacted them, and so have I now, twice, with no resolution to when I can expect my funds to be returned to me.
