We have been using our personal Apple and Quince trees for the past 5 years to make Apple/quince juice and also Apple/quince cider. For 4 years we have had a very similar product yet slightly different each year. In the past we used ***** ************. However they retired so this year we tried Signature wines. We dropped off 7 x 19L (133L) pails of fresh juice to be turned into cider. We dropped off on Sept 30 and were told to expect pick up on Nov 14. At the time we were charged 5 units (115L) and told due to not exactly enough for 6 units we could settle once completed. After 6 weeks we called to ask progress and they said much too early it would be 6 more weeks. This was unusual for us as the previous 4 years had always been 6 weeks. After 3 months we went to pick up and discovered they only had 74 L of the original 133L. We were told this is normal due to the process. Our previous experience was very minimal loss of product. This worked out to be $13.50 per L. Almost double from previous years. However once home we tried the cider and discovered that it was not possible to drink. We have gone back to the store and brought last years juice and cider and this years juice and cider. Both juices taste very similar however the cider is completely different. We had owner do a taste test and he said it was normal. He also said it is normal to loose 5L per unit (20%) of product during process. This is not true from our experience.
    1. Missing 59L of cider
    2. Product is nothing like previous years even though it was from the same juice. If it was different but drinkable we would be more understanding.
We had this cider made for our daughter’s wedding this coming summer. This is now not possible. We will have to purchase 133L of cider to serve. The owner offered us an in store credit for $160. We are seeking damages for our costs.
    1. The original amount paid. $1033
    2. Purchase of 133L of cider. $?
Any assistance would be most appreciated.
    Kind regards
