    Advertising Review:

    On December 12, 2022, BBB contacted the business concerning the absence of Merchant Requirements to include Refund and Return/Cancellation Policy to be clearly disclosed on the online website. BBB has received a number of complaints concerning difficulties getting refunds for trips that were cancelled.  The business agreed to include in its advertisement; however, the business did not respond to BBB’s request for revisions.

      On Jan 20, 2020 Silkway Travel & Cruise Inc sold myself and fellow church members a pilgrimage trip/tour package (confirmation ID: *************** and Invoice # ******) to from Vancouver to Mexico City flying with ********** on March 17, 2020 to March 23, 2020 for $2,527.50. The package included flights, hotel, meals, and shuttle bus. Due to Covid the trip was postponed. And on July 22, 2021, ********** agreed to give us a voucher to use for future flights. On March 14, 2022, our group leader Romano M***** (RM) sent an email to Nat/Silkway (NS) to officially reschedule our tour for October 17, 2022 to October 23, 2022, and the email included all 34 passengers' names and the room list for the hotel. After multiple emails, phone calls, and visits from Romano to Nat & Silkway (on April 4, 2022, May 10, 2022, May 22, 2022, June 7, 2022, June 29, 2022, July 12, 2022, July 29, 2022), he received no replies. Finally on August 10, 2022 Nat/Silkway told Romano by phone that the rebooking of flight reservations is not NS' responsibility by should be done individually by the each member of the group, however NS offered to rebook the flights for a charge of $30/person. By email RM accepted the offer to have NS rebook the flights for us. On August 29, September 8, and September 9, RM sent NS multiple emails asking to confirm that status of our flight reservations. On September 12, 2022, NS told RM that our credit voucher expired May 26, 2022 and ********** will not accept the voucher and we would have pay C$900/pax for the new ticket. We were not aware of our vouchers expiring on May 26, 2022. And as senior citizens with tight budgets we could not afford to just buy new tickets and cannot go on the tour. We feel that NS lack of response between March 14, 2022 and the expiry of the vouchers on May 26, 2022 is unacceptable and as result has lost close to $100,000 collectively for the group. We would like a refund for our trip.
