We moved into an acreage with a well and the well stopped working. I replaced the pump, the holding tank ($1,200) and all the fittings, but it still was not working. I contacted Westar Drilling to see if they could help me. When they came to look, he took everything apart and then cross-threaded the brand-new tank. To cover his mistake, he coated the connection with pipe dope. From my understanding, pipe dope never goes on a plastic fitting. He also said it was the pump that I purchased and I would have to purchase a pump from him at a cost of $1,600.00. When I asked him about cross-threading the connection, he said he didn't do it and to go back to ****** *** ****** (where I purchased the tank) and get them to warranty the tank. I told him they aren't going to warranty a tank for cross-threading and he simply said, you'll have to buy a new tank. He was not going to replace it. I told him to get off my property, and he wouldn't leave. He sat in his truck for a while and then proceeded to give me a bill for $578.81, which I crumpled up and threw it back in his truck. He threw it back out to me. On his bill he said the tank was leaking, which is why he took it apart. It wasn't - it couldn't leak because I was not getting any water. We had been out of water for three days at that point. I do not want to be charged the $578.81 and I want to be compensated for the tank that he ruined, which is $1,200.00.
