    In June of 2022 I rented a storage unit from U-Store-It in West Edmonton. I chose this place because it seemed secure, and on their website they state an on-site manager lived there as well as having video surveillance of the facility. I put all my belongings into storage, believing they would be secure. In January 2023 I was told by the manager my locker had been broken into and numerous items were taken. I had insurance and many items were replaceable, but some were not and these are the ones I value most. The theft was reported to police who began an investigation. They requested the video surveillance be provided to see if they could identify the suspect. To this day, this video surveillance has not been supplied. I feel they purposely hindered the investigation by not providing the surveillance video. Unless this does not even exist, which is then also false advertising. As well, there is no manager living on site. They falsely state on their website that these services are available at this storage facility when they are not. Yes I did sign the agreement stating they are not responsible, but I believe they did not hold up their end of the agreement, which is an on-site manager and video surveillance. When this happened I was told I would get a refund for the remaining months on the agreement. This would arrive in 6-8 weeks. 11 weeks later, I had to ask them numerous times for this refund and only after I said I would report this to the ****** ******** ****** did they send me the money. So while I did get that partial refund for the months not used (I moved out right after this) but I believe I should receive a full refund. They falsely advertised their services and were not at all helpful when police asked for the surveillance video

    I put all my belongings into storage here and 7 months later my unit was broken into (at least one more was also) and half my items stolen.I reported this to the police, who requested video surveillance from the company. The video has NEVER been supplied to police, so either there is no surveillance video, or they just do not care and do not want to help. As well, they promised me that within 6-8 weeks I'd get a refund of the remaining months I paid. 11 weeks later this still wasn't done and I had to hound them for this. I only received my money when I told them I would be making complaints to BBB and poor reviews. Despite what their website says, there is NO onsite manager at this facility. The manager is nice but I think it is those above her that are the problem. It's not so much the financial value of the stolen items, but the personal and sentimental items that are now gone forever.I regret the day I signed up to store my items here and advise anyone to go somewhere else. It's bad enough my items were stolen, but then to be treated so poorly by the company. This is a terrible company to deal with. They have NO respect for their clients. ***************** somewhere else.
