-Sept 29, 2023 dealing on a GMC Sierra Elevation with specific options – tow package, running boards, box liner, tow mirrors, 4WD, sunroof at Capital GMC-Edmonton with ***** ****. ***** said $8000 discounts available -had to sign bill of sale for a vehicle sight unseen, complete details unknown, and at $12000 higher than it should have cost before we could see vehicle - Shown a truck that met our specifications that ***** said was $78000 without discounts. ***** then ‘found us a better deal – more truck for the same price’ but it was at another dealer. He never gave the sticker price, vehicle details, or other costs in writing. We demanded to see the truck before we signed the bill of sale, but they refused and said the sale had to be complete before they could bring the truck in. The ******* ******* did not explain the costs and fees to our satisfaction. We had no evidence of sticker price when we signed and assumed the vehicle we signed for had the same options as the Elevation we were shown. When we went the next day, the sticker was on the rear window. ***** tried to destroy it but we demanded it stay in the truck. The sticker price was $73493. Bill of sale price was $78208, but no documents to explain the increase and no additional options. They arbitrarily increased price by $4715 then applied a $4000 Discount (not the $8000 discount). We were led to believe the price should have been $73493 minus the $8000 discount, to which the negative equity of a trade-in would be added, bringing the sale price back to $74000. Instead, they inflated the sticker price to $78208, applied a $4000 discount, added the trade-in difference $7650 for a final price of $86,569. -Oct 2 and 11, talked to ***** ******* and ******* ******* about concerns. They said: the $8000 discount only applied to 1 vehicle on the lot; they can set price and discounts; we shouldn’t have signed; outcome would be same if we refused to take possession.
