Today 5/19/23 at approximately 10:30pm PDT, I made several attempts to cancel the 7 day free trial subscription online, however, the Cancel Subscription button was grayed out and their system without explanation would not complete the cancelation request. According to the orginal confirmation I am supposed to be able to cancel online through the account until 5/20/23 approximately 1:38pm Eastern Time.

      Hello *****,

To clear up your confusion, you can freely click the Cancel Subscription icon from your Subscriptions and Licenses Account page. Once cancelled, you will receive a confirmation email. Our records show you were able to cancel your subscription online right from your account, which would prove the cancel subscription icon works even if it's greyed out.

Attached is the proof that your subscription was cancelled.

I've been charged $36.75 per month on my credit card starting October 5, 2022 for a service that I did not order. Aside from over $100 they have charged to me for services that I did not order or use, they appear to have been the source for a further $800 in charges to my credit card, which I did not order, through companies with several red flags (stated email address non-existent, three companies who's main purpose is stated as taking calls about cancelling charges from their account, three identical sites with different .com addresses (all stated as in Spain), and one stated as in Florida doing the same business, who's address is not a suite number, but a UPS store box number. As such, this company appears to a source of gathering credit card information and making unauthorized monthly charges to credit cards.

      Hello *****,

Legal contracts provide DIY legal forms and documents online. We are a Canadian-based company, and our head office is in Edmonton, AB, Canada. We do not operate in Spain or Florida.
You may have gone to other websites and purchased services you mistaken for us.

Our records show you had created an account with us and accessed a Bill of Sale for a vehicle with your name as the seller, ***** ****. You initially selected the seven days Free Trial Subscription and, as the website states, renews to a monthly subscription fee of $36.00+ tax total to $36.75. We require a cancellation within one week to avoid renewal and billing. We have stated it twice on the site. A confirmation of your order was emailed to you including the date and time of when your Free Trial expires after you submitted your order. The process to cancel was also included in that email. Another email was sent to you when the subscription rolled over to a month-to-month subscription. Charges also appear monthly in your bank statement. Since there has been no cancellation on file therefore, the charges are on your card.  Attached in this email are the details of your order. Please know that we only charge our monthly fee and no other charges as you have mentioned. You may want to get your bank to investigate those other charges.

We have just cancelled your subscription for you to avoid any future billing. Please check your email for confirmation of the cancellation.

We appreciate your feedback and we hope that this clarifies the issue.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: I applied for a free trial but did not receive any confirmation that my application was accepted. I did not apply for a permanent account and was not informed that they set up a permanent account. They did not inform me that I would be charged on a monthly basis. They did not provide me with an account number, verification code, security code password or instructions on how to access my free trial or account that I did not request.

There statement of a free trial is false. Free is free. No strings attached. If I taste a sample of ice cream, I do not have my credit card deducted for ice cream cones that I did not purchase. I have tried free samples at my grocery store and has not been subsequently charged for products that I did not purchase. I have receive free samples in my mailbox, but do not subsequently get charged for purchases of the product that I failed to make.

I never authorized this account beyond a free trial. I was never informed that my application for a free trail was accepted so do not know that I even had a free trail. I did not use the free trial. I never got to see a sample of their products, which the free trial was supposed to provide prior to asking me if I wanted to purchase a monthly subscription.

In short, I was never informed about these charges and did not order them. I did not receive my free trial and have never accessed products from their sites. In short, I did not receive anything of value. As such any contract that they claim is false and would be nul and void since contract law stipulates that I each party must receive value. They stole from my credit card. I did not receive any value in return.

I received a notice from them today that they have cancelled my account, but they did not mention refunding the funds that they robbed from my credit card. I want all funds deducted from my credit card to be returned.

      * *** **** ***** ********** ***** **** ******* *** * ******* ******* ********* **** *** *********** *** ************ **** **** ** * ********* ***** *** ****.

I want all of the money that they robbed from my credit card returned.

I signed up for the free trial as I needed to put together a legal doc. I immediately cancelled it as I thought it was weird that the "Free" trial required I submit a credit card number. I don't use the card at all and to my fault didn't notice all the $33 monthly charges. As I explained to the Customer service manager ******* ** there was definitely an oversite on my end from not catching the charge sooner. Coaching kids, working, being a husband, and having some rental properties I oversee were a few of higher priority items than making sure a "Free Trial" service cancelled on a card I rarely use. What's interesting to me is they can see if I used the service after the "free Trial period. I asked the manager to just look into their system to see if I used it one time after the free trial was established. She said she wasn't able to and that ultimately it was my responsibility since I signed up for the "Free Trial". Pretty shady. She said I was sent renewal invoices each year. Never saw one. My point to this is how do you take money from some one that never used your service. 27 months * $33 = $891. Unbelievable that they're able to sleep. To me there should be better notification if they're charging someone that's not using the service. From the managers response it almost sounds like they're not really interested in you using their site and hope you don't catch the charges. I printed up what I thought was a receipt showing a zero balance. The Mgr ******* went on to tell me what I have isn't a receipt. So i sign up for a Free trial that requires a credit card to hold. I cancel the free service and print what I think is a receipt and it's treated as if I'm lying. I never used the service once. How is that lying? Its a dishonest practice merely hoping to gain business by people forgetting they set it up or saying you didn't cancel a service, you never used outside of the free trial, incorrectly. Help Please!

      Hello ***,

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear about your frustration.

Here are the details of your order:
      Free Trial for one week
      Order Summary

      Order number: ********************
Order date: July 31, 2019, 02:12 PM ET
Once your free trial is complete, we'll conveniently renew your plan. The subscription automatically renews in one week, on August 7, 2019, 02:12 PM ET, for $33.00 per month.
You can always change your subscription options or cancel your trial before it renews by visiting your account page.

      ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Subscription Cancellation: Nov 8, 2021 06:47 AM ET
Your automatic Site Subscription renewal failed on November 8, 2021, 06:02 AM ET, because your credit card was declined.

The information about the Free Trial for one week was posted twice on the site and on the order summary page before you clicked “Submit Order.” An email confirmation of your purchase subscription was sent right after you signed up for the service. The details of the email are what is posted above. All charges were billed monthly to your registered payment information on our site, and your bank statement would show those charges. Your subscription was only cancelled on Nov 8, 2021, due to the failure to charge your card. Another email was sent to you stating the cancellation and the reason why.  All these details were provided to you so you would have an informed decision about your purchase. We do not monitor accounts and it is the sole responsibility of the subscriber to monitor and cancel their subscriptions if they do not want to continue. Unfortunately, no refunds will be processed for a Free Trial Subscription turned into a monthly service. Your subscription already has been cancelled and no charges will be billed to you in the future.

Attached are the emails we have sent you regarding your chosen subscription to refresh your memory of the kind of service you signed up for. Please take time to take a look at it from your busy schedule. Thank You.

This company has been charging me $33 every month since Sept 2020. I only used their services one time in 2020 and signed up for a free trial. I did not get any emails or receipts that I have been getting charged. I only saw my bank statement recently and noticed the monthly charge. I called and informed them of this matter but they refused to acknowledge the problem and refund my money.

      Hello *****,

Based on our records you signed up for the Free Trial for 1 week/7 day. As stated multiple times on the website, The Free Trial renews to a monthly subscription for $33.00 after the Free Trial for 1 week ends.
You signed up for the Free Trial for 1 week on August 25, 2020, at 03:27 PM ET. An email was sent to you at the time of your purchase stating, Once your free trial is complete, we'll conveniently renew your plan. The subscription automatically renews in one week on September 1, 2020, 03:27 PM ET, for $33.00 per month.  You can always change your subscription options or cancel your trial before it renews by visiting your account page. Another email was sent to you when your subscription was renewed to the monthly service. Charges were also shown monthly on your bank statement. Since your subscription was only cancelled on June 8, 2022, 11:34 AM ET and that is almost 2 years after your Free Trial ended, therefore the charges on your card.

Attached are the emails we have sent you during your subscription with us. If you need to access your receipts, sign in back to your Legal Contracts account and go to your My Account page.

We have provided you with a one-month $33.00 courtesy refund as a gesture of good faith. Unfortunately, no other refunds will be processed as of this time and as we have mentioned to you in your recent calls and emails, Our information is clear, easy to read and repeated in multiple locations for customers to review and understand. Our refund policy is posted under Terms of Use and the link to Terms of Use also appears on the confirmation email sent to customers within minutes of selecting the 7-day free trial.

      Thank you for your feedback.

***** ********************* On April 6, 2022 I went to legal contracts for a “Free” contract. I gave them my card number to be able to check out what they offered for my business that I’m starting. After getting my “free” contract and looking over their services I decided against using their services and and cancelled my services that evening. Nearly 2 weeks later I get a charge on my account for $33 for their monthly fee. I had cancelled their service and did not authorize the $33. And from what I can see I am not the only customer they’ve done this to. I received a “no reply message notification” saying there is no refund on the fee after I spoke to them of the situation. So now you can’t reply to what they send you. I would like my $33 back and someone to please get them to stop doing this “free” game and stealing peoples money. Please return my $33 and there will be no further issues coming from this end.

      Hello ********,

I am sorry for the frustration. Our records show you signed up for the Free Trial for 1 week on Apr 06/22. Your Free Trial for 1 week expired on Apr 13/22. We required a cancellation within the 7 days of Free Trial. We posted the information twice on our site and we also sent you a confirmation email with your purchased transaction. If you say you cancelled it online prior to the end of the Free Trial, you should have received an email confirming of the cancellation. However, your subscription was only cancelled on Apr 18, 2022, which is 5 days after the end of the Free Trial.  A one time $35.00 has been approved and will post back to your account in 5 business days. Please check your email for the confirmation.

I signed up for a ONE TIME contract back in Sept of 2021. I received email that it was a 7 day trial ( deceitful) so I immediately signed on to cancel the very next day. I was assured by their website that I successfully canceled but did not receive any email following. Didn’t think anything of it. 8 months later I noticed a charge of $33 on my credit card. Called and they told me this was never successfully canceled. And I was charged this every month. I’m livid. What a deceitful business practice. I am disabled in a wheelchair. Also Legally blind. I wasn’t able to read my bank statements to see the monthly charge. No monthly email notification. Such fraud.

      Hello *****,

I am sorry to hear about your frustration. The only cancellation we see on our file was on Mar. 21, 2022 when you called and spoke to one of our agents. Our records show you initially signed up for a 7 day Free Trial subscription which we require a cancellation within the 7 days of Free Trial. If not cancelled, it would renew to a monthly fee of $33.00 per month.  This information was posted twice on the site, we also sent you an email confirming your sign-up. Included in the email was the date and time of when the Free Trial for 1 week would expire as well as the process of cancelling. Another email notification was sent to you when your subscription was renewed to a monthly service. All of these details were given to you so you would have an informed decision about the service you chose to purchase.  Your charges were also showing monthly in your bank statement. Since there was no cancellation ever done within the Free Trial week or the months after, therefore the charges on your card.

You only cancelled your subscription after 7 months of active service. A courtesy refund of 1 month for $33.00 was approved and would post back to your account in 5 business days. No further refunds will be processed for a Free Trial turned into a monthly subscription. The terms and conditions were clearly outlined when you signed up for the service.

We appreciate your feedback. Thank you for using our site.

I am rejecting this response because: They are not being honest to the fact that I attempted to cancel

My trial on the 6th day of service.  Within my alloted timeframe for the free trial.  They kept charging me WITHOUT NOTICE monthly and this is unethical business practice. Also to deny that I did contact them to cancel is shocking and the burden of proof should be on them to prove I didn’t cancel.  They’re flat out liars.  Just look at all the complaints and refunds they have given to save their reputation.  They’re only acknowledging my SECOND cancellation which was done AFTER I realized they had ignored my initial request to cancel  please proceed with my complaint on this business   Anyone can see that I use the service one single time and never again. That alone should prove that I had no intention or knowledge that my business with them was continuing

I am sorry you rejected our response. I have attached all the emails we sent you regarding your account.

Please know that you had a monthly subscription. The Subscription is not based on how many times you used the service and we required a cancellation. However, you only cancelled after 7 months of service.

We have given you a courtesy refund of $33.00 which you should have already received. Again, no further refunds will be processed as the Terms of Use were clearly outlined.

I am rejecting this response because: I am 100% certain I canceled my trial within the trial period over the internet on their website.  There is a process you follow you login, and then you go to ‘my account’ the you  ‘unsubscribe’ from this service.  I did all of this.  I’m certain. This company continued to bill me monthly QUIETLY.  Without ANY monthly email receipts.    This lack of monthly receipt is unscrupulous business practice.  This is their way of continuing to charge a client who discontinued service  I would like to proceed with this complaint as they were criminally and fraudulently keeping me as a client.. I only needed this company for one month.  I followed procedure to discontinue services on their website and they’re FLATLY DENYING! Just look at the many similar complaints against this company. My credit card company said they are happy to dispute this for me if the company would not resolve. I’ve called three times now. Each time saying that they will remove the charges. Today, I spoke with Cynthia a supervisor who told me that yes I indeed purchased a membership the emails have been sent to me and that she had no record of my calls. Hello ******,

I am sorry to hear your frustration. I understand how frustrating it is to miss some information about online subscriptions. Our records show you selected a 7-day Free Trial Subscription. I did a little research and found out that you had gone past the 7 days Free Trial Subscription which we require a cancellation within the 7 days of Free Service. As the website states, your subscription automatically renews 1 week after Free Trial ends. Your subscription was only cancelled One Year later after your Free Trial week ended. Since it was not cancelled within the Free Trial week, therefore the charges are on your card. Your bank statement would also have shown the charges each month. We have posted the information of the Free Trial for 1 week twice on the site, we also sent you multiple emails regarding your account. All information was given so you would have a complete understanding of the service you signed up for and agreed upon.

A 3 months refund in addition to the 1-month refund that was processed on October 27, 2021 of $33.00 per month has been approved and will post back to your account in 5 business days. Please check your email for confirmation.

We appreciate your feedback and we will continue to work on our site to improve all areas of service.
