    Back in ******** ****, I was a member of Anytime Fitness and use to be regular to the gym. I cancelled my membership at that time and left the gym never to return. I still didn't return but I see 2 charges on my credit card. I emailed the business about it and they said that "I didn't cancel, I just froze the membership". I asked them to cancel, but they're NOT cancelling the membership. I told them I am usually not in town so send me a cancellation form that I can sign and send it to them. They're refusing and asking me to come. ***** **** ********* ******* *** ******** they are saying no to cancellation. It was ** ***** ** **** ** *****l, and they purposely didn't (instead just froze it), *** *** ******* ****** **** ** ****** *******. Now when I want to cancel* ******* ******** ********** **** ** ** ***** ***** ** ******. * **** **** **** *** ** * *** *** *********** ** ******* ******** **** *** **** **** ** ****** **** ** *****

    Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond. Prior to receiving this complaint, we canceled ******************************* membership on *** ****.  ************** asked us to freeze his membership since there was a chance that he would return back to ******* or that he would relocate close to another Anytime Fitness gym. The advantage of freezing your membership is that the member is not charged anything but the member gets to keep the rate they are paying. This is advantageous to the member as rates  keep on increasing but they are not charged anything. We would never take the liberty of freezing anyone's membership without being asked to do so. Furthermore, we cannot freeze a membership and cancel it, while it is frozen. All of our member's that place their memberships on freeze are informed of this policy.

    Even though we did not formally receive a cancellation form, from ******, I took into consideration that he moved and could not be physically present to cancel his membership. * ******* **** ** *** *** * ****** since it clearly states on our membership agreements that member's either need to come to the gym to cancel their memberships or mail us a cancelation letter. *************************** did not come into the gym to cancel his membership nor did he mail us a letter requesting to cancel his membership.  Even though we canceled his membership, we cannot cancel anyone's membership that is frozen. *************************** was informed of this policy. All of our members need to give *** Fitness, which is our financial company that handles billing, 30-days written notice of their cancellation, which is exactly what we did *************
