They didn't call me back. They just emailed me and I've received no no paperwork. They know I have to prove where every cent went to the housing registry people so I can get housing. I'm sitting homeless waiting. I'd like our contract to be over. this year. The closing date of my house was March 5th but it ended up being March 6th, because m&p put a hold on the sale of my house without informing me. Forcing me to sign a paper at my real estate lawyers signing over all of my money including $11,000 from my ex-colinMarsh's portion of the equity in back pay for child support. Other ways the house would not proceed with the sale and would in return go into foreclosure..I have talked to ******** ******* once. She says she's going to call me and doesn't. I have called them a million times and Left messages asking for a call back. She was supposed to call me back last Thursday and let me know what was happening even if they hadn't gotten anywhere on my account. still have not received that call. I keep calling and emailing them and they refuse to acknowledge me or even speak to me. I need to get a car and a place to live so I can get a job. I have kids and animals and we're homeless. I desperately need that $11,000 today

      Hello,

I spoke with our Trustee about this complaint and they let me know that it is invalid and should be removed. Here is his more detailed response below:

The role of the trustee is to collect on the assets of the debtor at the date of bankruptcy.  The debtor failed to disclose an amount recoverable from a prior court order.  We were notified of a pending house sale and a condition that the arrears payment were to be paid to her from the house sale.  We had to sign off on the sale of the house and received her share of the equity and the pre bankruptcy support.

She has failed to disclose her bankruptcy to legal aid who put a lien on the property, post bankruptcy.  We are trying to get those funds released and if so, there will be more funds then debts and she will get that.

She refuses to assist our office and we are trying to work with legal aid.

Was not living in the house at the date of sale, so she has a home and is on social assistance.

      Customer Answer

      Continued from previous email..

I called legal aid Monday and they said I'mfine on their end.

      And I am absolutely homeless!!!
I moved out of the house in question, my home, March 5th 2025. My daughter, my two dogs, two bunnies and cat are in a trailer in my parents yard. There's no running water in the trailer although we do have access to water. But it's cold uncomfortable and we don't even have what we need. It's by all means not a home.
The closing date never happened till March 6th because *** failed to notify me there was a hold or cancel or whatever on the house. So I had to sign papers To release my equity to let the sale of the house go through.
If They would have told me about this ahead of time. I could have prepared my lawyers and everybody for this. I did let the house lawyers know that my share of the equity go to to mnp.
The $11000 in question was back pay for child support from September 2023. To November 2024. And came out of *******, my ex and co owner of the home, equity of the home. Not my share of the equity, ******* share,  there's paperwork to prove that, mnp has it.
All I want is them to let me pay it off, close my account with them, cut all ties and have them not have access to my car or my GST anymore!! I never received my GST for April, I assume it went to them.
When I talked to ******** on Monday she said she was going to call me back when **** came into the office. Instead, I received a email Monday afternoon saying he never came in the office. And I still have not heard back from them to let me know if they are going to let me pay it off or not. I've been totally open and honest with them and I have not received professional or timely service

This complaint is not invalid and should not be removed.

To be honest I don't know what they're talking about for almost the whole paragraph where it was talking about the pending house sale. And how I failed to disclose an amount recoverable from a prior court order. The Arrears payment were to be signed over, paid to her from the house sale.

I notified ******** as soon as I was going to have to put the house up for sale because it was going into foreclosure. I did not fail to disclose my bankruptcy to legal aid. *** knew about the lien., It was put on around April or May the same time as I was doing my bankruptcy.. I have never ever refused to assist them. I've been trying to figure this out a month before The closing date of the sale.

I call and email them non-stop. I will send screenshots of my call log. And I tried to send emails to the email address I have for BBB.

I called ******** St. Pierre on Monday and I had informed her that I thought what they were doing wasn't right and my family lawyer suggested I look into it a bit deeper because they believed it seems shady as well. I asked her if I could pay out the remainder of my bankruptcy which should be close to $1,2 00.

I I also informed her I would not be signing over the money that is entrust for legal aid. Because I need legal aid. But like I said I asked if I could pay the rest of my bankruptcy out so I could be done with them and my contract be complete. More on next email..

      Customer Answer

      Date: 21/04/2025

I've never refused to assist, I've been in contact with legal aid.

Mnp refuses to give me information on my file, they send me emails ignoring my questions, and just tell me to let them know about legal aid

I did tell legal aid about my bankruptcy. My bankruptcy is mentioned in my court paper in family Court.

I've asked for paperwork and information and I've also requested an in-person appointment so I can figure everything out and understand my situation and they refuse..

I lived in the house in question until March 5th at 10am and have proof of this.

They Have sent me misinformation and contradicted themselves on numerous occasions. I don't think it's too much to ask for me to be brought up to date so I understand what's going on. From what I understand, that is their obligation to make sure I understand things and they're supposed to be helping me, but they are not.

My complaint is not invalid and even if it gets resolved it should be kept on there for other consumers so they know what to look out for.

I have not been treated professionally by MNP. They do not contact me or keep me in the loop of my file, They are definitely not holding up their obligations. They are supposed to keep me informed and up to date and they do not even return calls after they say they will

I am rejecting this response because:

Mnp would not accept my phone calls

MNP would not answer my questions and keep me informed on what was happening. Every time I got to talk to a person they said they would call me back and I never ever received the calls.

I do understand that they are going to keep the $11,000 which was not all pre-bankruptcy support. Half of it was during my bankruptcy. Half of it was before. I do not think it's right or fair but I just want this to be over.

I have asked them if I could pay the rest off cash. They refuse to talk to me. They refuse to answer any questions. I sent them in last email and asked them to figure it out and they told me that they will not talk to me until everything is sorted out because I went to the supervisor of bankruptcies. Because I could not get anywhere through the BBB. I'm very sick of all of this and I just want it over. I want to pay the rest cash and be done with these people. I do think they're shady and I want them off my CRA log in online so I would like this dealt with as quickly as possible.

I have called the superintendent that is dealing with it and MNP has not responded to them yet.

I do think the complaint should be left on their records because people should know about this. I was in an awful position and I feel they took advantage of me.  Their job is to help me through this process and they totally left me in the dust and in the dark and would not inform me of what was happening.

If the BBB would like the contact of the superintendent. I can provide that.

      Sincerely,

      ***** ******

      Hello

I Left out some important information from my first response. I never refused to help *** with legal aid. I wanted information first and they refused to give it to me, So until I get all of the information, I will not give them permission to speak with legal aid on my behalf, because I don't feel like they act in my best interest where legal aid does. That's why I work with them instead.. When I spoke with legal aid they had no problem with me and said I did nothing wrong. I signed for my bankruptcy and legal aid because that's when everything fell apart. The bankruptcy is in my legal papers so I did disclose it.

I just want it over and done with I offered to pay it out. I've asked to go up in person and receive information and work things out. They refuse. They refused before I came to the BBB that's why all of this started.

      Thanks Megan

In July 202*, I filed an objection with the *** due to an error in their calculation of my 202* tax file. They had only considered my pre-bankruptcy CPP contributions, neglecting my post-bankruptcy contributions. For your reference, I filed for bankruptcy with MNP in January 2022 and was discharged in October 2023.This error resulted in an overpayment of approximately $***. While awaiting resolution of my objection, I made payments towards the disputed amount to avoid accruing further interest. In March 2024, I was pleased to receive confirmation that my objection was successful and a refund cheque for $*** would be issued "under separate cover."However, the cheque was sent to MNP in April and subsequently cashed by them. I believe this was an oversight, as the funds should have been directed to me. I contacted the *** in April and confirmed the cheque was cashed on the ****.I have also spoken with an MNP representative who verified that MNP cashed the cheque. To recover these funds, I was advised to contact my file representative with proof of my payments. Despite numerous calls and emails, I have not received a response from MNP.I understand that any tax refunds during my bankruptcy would be directed to MNP. However, in this specific case, the funds represent an overpayment I made to resolve a miscalculation, not a traditional tax refund.I am at a loss on how to proceed.

I am currently going through a bankruptcy and selected MNP Debt Solutions in ******* to assist me with that. That being said it has not been a great experience. I am at risk of being homeless due to them not paying attention to any details I give them. They have filed my income tax incorrectly * times and I have had my child tax benefit cut off, disability tax credit cut off for my son who is autistic. I have not been receiving any of my regularly CRA Benefits since April **** due to their constant errors and have had to resort to involving a federal MLA I do not think this is right for them to do this to their clients. I have pleaded with them to reach out to CRA and explain their mistakes and send a new letter stating they told me they could not help me anymore but that was not true they could reviewed their documents they sent in the second time and would of quickly realized that there was a mistake on the date in question again for a *** time. The person I dealt with to fix this a third time was great to communicate with and quickly sorted the paperwork but this will likely take another *+ months to resolve with the cra and I could be left homeless since I cannot afford to pay rent and other bills without my child tax benefit.

      Good afternoon.

      Thank you for your message.

The ****** class action parameters outlined what was required, and even if the participant filed a claim, if the dollar value was not at the level required in the court approved settlement, the class member would not receive a distribution.

MNP Ltd. completed its engagement and returned unclaimed funds back to class counsel for remittance to the cy-pres beneficiary outlined in the court approved settlement.

I engaged MNP for accounting services, specifically with ******. While the quality of the accounting work was satisfactory, I have encountered concerns regarding the cost structure. The charges incurred from ****** and her team are significantly higher, approximately five times, compared to other service providers in the industry.Regrettably, I was unable to assess the anticipated costs upfront, as MNP assured me of a fair pricing model without providing a specific figure or an estimated range at the commencement of the engagement. Subsequently, MNP has asserted that the work has been completed, leaving me with limited grounds for disputing the charges. This lack of transparency and the subsequent billing disparity have contributed to a less than favorable and, in my opinion, unprofessional experience. I would appreciate a clarification on the cost breakdown and a more transparent communication process for future engagements.I initiated direct communication with the concerned party in an attempt to collaboratively address the issue at hand. Unfortunately, they have declined to engage in resolving the matter. Consequently, I am now seeking the assistance of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to facilitate a resolution and ensure a fair and equitable outcome.
