    On August **, 2024 we had Alberta Home Services come in to our recently purchased house at ****************************************************** to clean all of the carpets. The service technician "****" explained the process and options for treating the carpets, spraying removing stains and a spray protectant that would last up to * year. He then told us it would take up to ** minutes to complete the job. He started cleaning at approximately ***** and we returned home at ******  After ** minutes and $*** later, the job was done. We allowed the carpets to dry and did not walk on them until the next day. Over the next * days, we were able to easily remove other spot stains, but the carpets did not appear to be well cleaned. This is not what we expected.We have since borrowed a carpet cleaner from a family member, and on Friday August ****, we spent * hours just redoing the carpets on the main floor. After cleaning and rinsing the carpet at least twice in each room over a * hour period, the carpets finally look clean. Even the final rinse was still removing some dirt. Unfortunately, we have now cleaned off the final protectant spray which we paid good money for. We still have to redo the basement carpets. We are seniors on a fixed income and $*** is a lot of money to pay for such a poor job.As a resolution to this complaint, we expect Alberta Home Services to provide a full refund.

    Since the complaint was filed, we have been contacted by Alberta Home Services.  Their Operations Manager has attempted to call us as he is concerned about what happened, and we will be speaking with him today, Sept *** to help him understand what happened.  We have also forward him a photo of the dirty water we removed from our own cleaning.  Yesterday, we were also contacted by *****, Account Manager for ********************.  My spouse explained in detail our concerns and they have graciously provided us with a full refund.  We will work with AHS so that they can rectify any issues so that they can address the root cause of this complaint.

    Yes, Alberta Home Services has contacted us and re-acted quickly and professionally, providing a full refund as requested.  The BBB can close their file on this issue, and we will assist AHS with their internal investigation if necessary
