We used Audley Travel for a 15 day family trip in June to *****. We paid $40,000 for six people and were never able to see what the breakdown for the $40,000 was. I booked my own airline tickets so the flight was not a part of this $40,000. As part of this package, we rented a car for three days in ********. I saw the bill which I think was an oversight on their part because I was never able to see any bills for this trip, including hotels, driver charges, etc. and it was ***** Euros for three days of car rental. Upon my return, I filled in a survey and mentioned that I thought this was too much for three days and that I would like them to check into it and also that I wanted a breakdown on what was included in the $40,000 that I paid. The representative said that he would check and call me back on the car rental and that there was no way that I could see what the breakdown on the $40,000 was. I have not heard back from anyone from the company. I would not ever recommend this company. I believe I was totally ripped off. I had to leave one star but really give it 0 stars.Audley Travel Response

Dear ****, Thank you for your feedback, I am really sorry to hear you feel this way. I can see one of our Client Experience Executives called you on June 26 at 3pm. During this call ****** explained the cost of the car was approximately $600. The amount of 2,8000 Euros you are referring to would be the applicable deductible if the car was damaged. This charge would only have happened if any damage to the hire car had occurred. During the call it was also explained we are a full-service tour operator as such we provide package prices for the entire trip and do not offer a break down. All our trips are customized to the individual and a full package price is offered at every stage of your booking process. As a company we strive to offer high-level of service and unique trips. ****** did not follow up again as during the call you advised overall you had a great trip, and he had explained the information around the car hire and break down. ****************** husband and I went to ******, *****, July *****, 2022. We had researched our itinerary and in Oct 2021 contacted ***** of Audley Travel to book a private tour. ***** made a huge point to underline Audleys commitment to book a solid program custom made to our specifications and needs, stating That is the reason you travel with Audley..you get personalized attention to your wishes and needs and attention is paid to the most minute details of your itinerary. Nothing could be further from the truth. Audley failed to meet its commitment to us: not correcting mistakes in the original itinerary that were pointed out in Oct 2021; not sending any information about the final itinerary until 3 days prior to our flights to ****** which led to our being unable to revise the itinerary and undo mistakes; booking a substandard motel room in ***** (after complaining, B&B owners moved us to the suite we had actually paid for); sending us at the last minute a detailed itinerary that had no details about our guided tours. While the local guides were good, Audley's total lack of communication with them, crippled our guides' ability to take us to sights and provide what we had paid for. We did not hear from ***** for 8 months until 6/30/22 when she sent us an email that she was quitting her job; the poor transition to the new specialist led to confusion, uncertainty, missed opportunities. At $1200. per day (PLUS all tips to drivers and local guides, all lunches and dinners, an extra $200 Euros per day) Audley Travel was a rip off. Great companies such as Tauck Tours offer all inclusive week in ****** ($1072 per day) with tipping for drivers and local guides, lunch and dinner with wine in superb restaurants included. Viking World offer all inclusive trips $1200 per day and at times offer promotions that include free international travel. We did communicate with Audley representatives and they did offer 18% refund, nowhere near enough to compensate us.Audley Travel Response

STAY FAR AWAY from Audley Travel! You will thank me! They are rude, unexperienced, short staffed, not truthful, and completely incompetent. They will ruin your dream vacation and you will be sorry you ever used them. They are not experts in traveling much less the area you want to travel to, they will ignore you, then tell you how busy they are. They will lie and embellish of how wonderful the tours and resorts are, they will mess up with your meals, itinerary, tour information, drivers, hotels you are staying at. The itinerary will have the wrong pictures. They will provide the wrong country entry requirements. They will forget to tell you about the proper paperwork for the country you are visiting. You will have to do your own research. Thier computer systems are being updated and you will be provided many mistakes. Audley does not have any documents checked or any quality processes in place. They also will also ask you to only visit 1 country instead of 2 because it's easier for them to figure out the entry requirements. Then upon your return, they will blame you for being so unhappy because you made a big deal out of everything big and small and exaggerated on how horrible your trip was and won't give you the refund you deserve. There is absolutely no customer service. You will wait days for a reply to an email. They will never reach out to you, you always have to reach out to them. The ****** office has no direct lines or voicemail so every time you call, you literally get a different person who takes a paper message and then you have to hope and wait your travel agent gets the message and calls you back- which can take days. They will also provide you the wrong recommendations of where to go so don't ask them for advice on locations or which island to go do- they will be wrong. They will send you to very old and outdated hotels. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!! I promise you-Audley travel is not worth the stress!Audley Travel Response

My *********** used Audley travel for private tours of So. America, Australia, ******************* We have been very pleased with the service provided, the details of planning they attended to, the recommendations, their responsiveness to my requests for specific places to visit. Yes, they are expensive but to have had the peace of mind to know that the details were all taken care of is really worth it. We were always met at airports, our guides &/or drivers were responsive to specific requests ************** is why we are using Audley to help us with travel details for our next trip that includes ******** & all the flights into & out of the "Stans." Yes, I feel sometimes the pressure to decide w/in a 10 day window as to whether we will put our deposit down but we have not had any of the experiences with poor responsiveness that others reviewers list. Having experienced all positives on our past tours, we will continue to recommend Audley as our preferred travel agent. *****************************
