Focused on equity and growth, we refined job descriptions to boost accessibility for all backgrounds and offer free educational resources—including Spanish options—to serve diverse groups. A staff-led committee promotes respect and belonging, while zero-tolerance policies against discrimination, harassment, and racism ensure a safe, equitable workplace for everyone.

Ethical economic empowerment

We proactively support ethical business through practical resources. Our BBB Breakthrough Accelerator helps companies build trust, while BBB's Industrious Women’s Summit empowers women in the trades. For entrepreneurs, our Innovation and Events Hub at ignite sparked by BBB offers meeting rooms, event space, and a podcast studio. We remain committed to helping small businesses drive economic resilience.

Elevating businesses with a higher purpose

For over 100 years, we’ve recognized ethical businesses. Today, our BBB4Good Trustmark supports purpose-driven companies connecting social impact to their bottom lines—reshaping economies and renewing communities. We don't just encourage others to use their platform for good; we lead by example. As a nonprofit with a business mindset, we carefully build and execute social sustainability initiatives internally and across our partner network.

The BBB team volunteers regularly at Veggies for Veterans at VA Hospital in Phoenix, AZ.
On March 6, 2024, the BBB team hosted the inaugural clean up of our newly adopted street in Phoenix, AZ
The Society for Human Resource Management of Greater Phoenix hosted a community support event at our Maricopa Campus. The BBB team helped to package 590 hygiene kits for Women4Women Tempe.

The BBB team volunteered at our local Special Olympics and helped pick up trash in our community.
The BBB team collected almost 300 food items for the Arizona Coyotes Food Drive which benefits the families and students of Roosevelt School District in Phoenix.
In San Diego, the BBB team joined our Board Chair, Nicole Donnelly, at Memorial Community Park in Logan Heights to plant 100 trees in honor of Arbor Day.
The BBB team volunteered to tend St. Vincent de Paul’s Urban Farm in Mesa.

19 units of blood were donated to the hospital during a blood drive in partnership with San Diego Blood Bank and TerraPro Solutions, which could save the lives of 36 people in just one day. Since one unit of blood can impact up to three lives, our collective efforts will help 57 local patients.
Four hours of free space is donated per month, per nonprofit organization to those in need at our Innovation and Events Hub at ignite sparked by BBB in Phoenix and San Diego.

In order to help local organizations like these further their missions, in March 2022, BBB awarded $62,500 in grants to nonprofit organizations dedicated to their respective ecosystems in Arizona and California.

Focus on our future generation

We cultivate trust by recognizing future leaders with scholarships for ethical community action. High school students who navigate ethical dilemmas deserve recognition that inspires others. Our programs reward integrity so students carry ethical conduct into the workforce. In 2024, we awarded $41,000 in scholarships to local Arizona students, athletes, and JROTC cadets.

Our BBB Torch Award for Ethics sets the bar for ethical business, showing how doing things right elevates entire communities. BBB accreditation proves a commitment to doing good, and we lead by example. Alongside our accredited businesses, BBB has been recognized for our own community contributions, inclusive leadership, and a workplace culture that goes far beyond a typical job.
