The BBB Safety Group Program is designed for eligible Colorado businesses that want to improve workplace safety, strengthen claims management, and reduce workers’ compensation costs. Businesses accepted into the program may qualify for a premium discount, training opportunities, safety resources, and possible dividend eligibility through the Safety Group Program.
Businesses accepted into the BBB Safety Group Program may receive access to benefits that support safety, cost savings, and better claims management.
Premium discount
Eligible participating businesses may qualify for a 4% discount on their workers’ compensation premium.
Dividend eligibility
Participating BBB Accredited Businesses may be eligible for a safety group program dividend when program requirements are met.
Safety training and materials
Participants receive access to safety group training and materials designed to support safer workplaces.

The program supports improved risk management, loss control, claims management, and return-to-work practices.

Participants receive service from a Pinnacol customer-focused team.

Only Colorado-based businesses are eligible for the Safety Group Program.
Businesses must have two full-term policy periods of continuous workers’ compensation experience, excluding the current policy period.
Businesses must meet program loss ratio requirements based on recent full-term policy periods. Losses are evaluated up to nine months after the policy expiration date.
To receive the 4% workers’ compensation premium discount, participating businesses must attend two Pinnacol-approved safety seminars per policy year. Training may be available online or in locations across Colorado when approved by Pinnacol Assurance.
Businesses must show effective hiring, risk, and claims management practices. This includes management commitment to workplace safety, a return-to-work program, and use of Pinnacol SelectNet providers when available.
A rural exception may apply when a business location does not have a SelectNet provider within 30 miles.
