Better Business Bureau® (BBB®) of Greater Missouri & Southern Illinois is now accepting applicants for this year’s Student of Ethics Awards with the opportunity to win a $2,500 scholarship.

The Student of Ethics Awards recognize exceptional high school students who demonstrate ethics through leadership, community service, personal integrity and academic achievement.

High school juniors graduating in spring 2026 are eligible to apply for this year’s award. Judges will select one winner from the Springfield, MO region and two winners from the combined St. Louis, MO; Cape Girardeau, MO; Columbia, MO; and Quincy, IL regions.

Winners will receive a $2,500 scholarship to the accredited college or trade school of their choice. They will also be recognized and read their essays to an audience of business and community leaders at BBB’s Torch Awards for Ethics banquet in fall 2025.

The Student of Ethics Awards are made possible by the generous support of local businesses. Dave Mungenast Family of Dealerships, Drury Hotels and Nestlé Purina sponsored the 2024 awards for St. Louis, Cape Girardeau, Columbia and Quincy; U.S. Bank sponsored the 2024 award for Springfield.

To apply, students must submit a copy of their high school transcript, a letter of reference and a 300-word essay.

Applications are due by May 30, 2025. Students may apply online at BBB.org/stlsoe or contact Executive Coordinator LaToya Montgomery at (314) 584-6737 for more information.
