In recognition of the evolving nature of BBB Serving Northern Colorado and Wyoming’s annual Torch Award for Ethics event, the 26th edition will be the first to carry the new name of “BBB Celebration of Ethics.” The 2024 BBB Celebration of Ethics will be held on April 23, 2024, at the Embassy Suites Conference Center in Loveland, CO.

The Celebration of Ethics is the highlight of BBB’s annual calendar and includes:

  • Naming of the winners of the Torch Award for Ethics, BBB’s highest award for businesses and nonprofits,
  • Naming of the winners of the Spark Award for Entrepreneurship, BBB’s award recognizing startups built on an ethical foundation,
  • Naming of the winner of the Northern Colorado Ethical Leadership Award, BBB’s award recognizing an individual for exemplary ethics and character during their career,
  • Recognition of the year’s class of BBB Ethics Scholar interns, who work with that year’s Torch Award candidates to prepare their applications and
  • The annual “State of the BBB” address from BBB president and CEO Shelley Polansky.

“When the Torch Awards was launched in 1999, the most common question we received was ‘what is an ethics award?’,” said Polansky. “Now the event honors ethical role model organizations among both businesses and nonprofits, entrepreneurial businesses that start with trust in mind from day one, individuals who have helped shape our business community with their ethical leadership, and some of the best and brightest students at our three area universities who have an interest in trust and ethics in the marketplace. The new name for the event reflects the broad range of ethical organizations and individuals that are recognized each year.”

The 2024 Torch Award candidates are currently at work on their application with this year’s class of Ethics Scholar interns. Nominations for the Spark Award for Entrepreneurship and Northern Colorado Ethical Leadership Award are now open. Winners of all these awards will be announced at the 2024 Celebration of Ethics on April 23, 2024, at the Embassy Suites in Loveland, CO.
