Western Massachusetts Awards for Marketplace Excellence (BBB)
BBB of Central New England has announced that Peter Pan Bus Lines and Braman Termite & Pest Elimination are the top winners at this year's 2023 Western MA Awards for Marketplace Excellence. This was the first in-person awards presentation since 2019, so we also celebrated our 2020 and 2021 Western MA virtual honorees at the event.
The awards celebrate businesses in western Massachusetts that epitomize corporate responsibility and always do what’s right for their customers. Honorees convey to the community of businesses that upholding the ethical standards of the Better Business Bureau is the hallmark of a successful business.
The businesses were recognized at the Western MA Awards for Marketplace Excellence ceremony on June 21st, along with other award recipients.

Ask Jerry Lazarus, the third-generation owner and operator of Braman Termite & Pest Elimination, what has made his company so successful, and he’ll tell you: “pride, honesty and quality.” These are the principles that the Lazarus family have lived by—ever since the founding of Braman Termite & Pest Elimination in 1890.

There were many outstanding nominations in 2021, but one of our finalists really stood out because they were named a Marketplace Excellence Award Winner just a decade prior.
Seven finalists were honored for their commitment to Marketplace Excellence. These companies strive to excel on all levels – among their employees, with their customers and throughout their communities:
Bert Hill Mover of Westfield, Betts Plumbing & Heating Supply Co. of Westfield, Electrical Experts of Easthampton, J Smegal Contracting of Lenox, National Vinyl of Chicopee, Proshred Security of Wilbraham, and Stellato Bros., Inc. of Feeding Hills.
BBB also honored a number of Accredited Businesses who are celebrating milestone anniversaries with BBB. Of special note are three businesses in attendance that each were celebrating more than fifty years of BBB Accreditation:
Belmont Laundry, celebrating 81 years of BBB Accreditation; Ideal Financial Services celebrating 71 years of BBB Accreditation; Peter Pan Bus Lines celebrating 56 years of BBB Accreditation.
