BBB® serving Central Oklahoma: Board member to coach at inaugural, global scaling up event
(Stacy Eads)
A BBB® Serving Central Oklahoma board member has big news! Entrepreneurs’ Organization co-founder and author Verne Harnish recently announced the selection of Oklahoma City as one of 22 cities that have been hand-selected around the world for the 20,000 Scaleups Global Business Program.
Harnish also announced the 20,000 Scaleups Oklahoma City program Chair will be The Journal Record Chain of Distinction and Circle of Excellence honoree and BBB® board member, Stacy Eads.
During the 12-Month curriculum, CEOs bring their leadership teams to a classroom setting four times a year, with an additional five online learning tracks available on demand that focus on the areas of Leadership, People, Strategy, Execution, and Cash to scale up the ever-growing and expanding companies here in our state. Upon graduation, the Oklahoma CEOs are offered an opportunity to attend Harvard in person for a 2-Day Master’s Certificate experience.
BBB® Serving Central Oklahoma’s President & CEO, Mrs. Kitt Letcher, has been selected as City Champion for this inaugural program launch. Stacy selected Kitt because of Kitt’s mission to make her community a better place.
Stacy said, “I chose Kitt Letcher because she’s well-known for breaking the stereotypes of building a workplace culture. She fosters an environment where people are invited to come as they are and have the opportunity to reach their potential.”
At BBB we are a champion of business,” said Letcher. “Being selected as a City Champion is such a tremendous honor. It is a privilege to live and work in a community that truly supports local businesses and is always looking for ways to see our community of business grow and thrive.”
Harnish, Eads, and Letcher expect the program to make a big economic impact in OKC. The two pilot programs for 20,000 Scaleups held in Sydney, Australia, and London, England, had a 100% graduation rate, according to Harnish. Companies who attended increased revenue by 31% and created almost 900 jobs because they grew so fast. Both pilot cities reached a $1 Billion impact within 36 months for each city, according to Eads.
All city champions, sponsors, and community supporters of the 20,000 Scaleups OKC business curriculum will be rallying together to make these CEOs and their leadership teams feel Oklahoma is the place they want to continue growing their entrepreneurial endeavors for generations to come.
Oklahoma City stands as only one of 10 U.S. cities nationwide to host this event, with all other cities hosting internationally. The global cities selected include Abu Dhabi, Brisbane, Melbourne, Dublin, Dubai, Sydney, Mexico City, London, Vancouver, New Brunswick, Riyadh, San Diego, Atlanta, San Francisco, Tampa, Minneapolis, Denver, Boston, Indianapolis, Austin, and Dallas.
