ARS performed a free inspection and advised on the problem, which was NOT water heater related. Excellent service. Great technician.

ARS replaced a gas furnace and air conditioner. In addition to ARS, I requested quotes from other companies, but had some difficulty understanding what system I needed (BTUs, SEERs, stages). The different company proposals represented different manufacturers, with slightly different specifications, cost, and availability. ARS proved competitive, and installed the system in my home the day after I signed the contract. The workmanship was excellent, and the two installers were efficient, clean, and courteous. They showed me how to work the thermostat, and the basement and outside equipment, and answered all my questions. Now let's see how the system works over time and climate conditions. ARS tried to charge me $430 to replace a part that was under warranty. My warranty no longer covers labor. I understand that. However the technician told me replacing the part took about 2 minutes. 1 hours worth of phone calls, I was given the song and dance from various members of their customer service team who tried to tell me it was not just labor, but registering the new part for warranty. So $430 for 2 minutes of labor and typing some numbers into a database. They came down to $315. Still unacceptable. I never actually got to speak to anyone higher up in the company, I was transferred from customer service to DISPATCH?? Dispatch quoted me the $315. ARS did this to a family member as well, charging over $900 for a part under warranty that was a 45 minute fix, coming down to $300 after weeks of phone calls. I would not recommended ARS to my worst enemy.American Residential Services, LLC Response
