My vehicle was involved in an accident on 2/24/2023. The police report was filed and insurance information was provided for me to begin my claim. I drove the vehicle away from the accident and to the dealer on 2/27/2023. The dealer began disassembly of the vehicle on 2/28/2023 and provided the insurance company a quote on 3/1/2023. The insurance company agreed to the quote and the repair was completed. The car was ready for pickup by me on 3/24/2023 with the final repair bill being $8,933.32 billed to the insurance company of the party who was at fault for the accident. No where on the police report, the initial repair estimate, or the final repair bill was there mention of multiple airbag deployments. In fact there was no airbag deployment on the vehicle at all. Four months later when I was looking to trade my vehicle, I was told the CARFAX report shows my vehicle had multiple airbags deploy in the accident. I submitted a dispute to CARFAX (Case# ********) with pictures from the accident, a link to the video from my dashcam, the initial repair estimate, the final repair bill from the dealer, and now the supplemental record from the insurance company. None list airbag deployment. They still have not corrected the airbag deployment statement on my CARFAX report and it cost me the vehicle I was looking to trade on. Once the dealer saw the report, they wanted nothing to do with my car. This is a tens of thousands dollar issue for my car and CARFAX is holding it hostage. I have attached the police report, the initial repair estimate, the final repair bill, and the insurance summary record for reference. I believe someone at CARFAX misread the police report. The airbag box on the report contains the number 2 in it referencing the number codes in the legend below my vehicle (vehicle 4 in the police report). Code 2 for the airbag means NO DEPLOYMENT. I believe they read the number 2 and assumed it meant 2 airbags. This is not the case.
