      My wife and I recently experienced a leak in our home, coming up from the floors. In searching for help online, we came across their website, which clearly advertises a free estimate and no trip charge. This was the deciding factor in choosing Roto-Rooter over other service providers.
      However, when their technician arrived, we were told that a $154 diagnostic fee was required just to determine where the leak was coming from. I was caught completely off guard by this and immediately pointed out the claims made on your website. I asked how it could be considered a free estimate if a diagnostic must be performed—and charged for—just to figure out the problem in the first place.
      Frankly, it feels misleading and intentionally vague. In what scenario can you offer a “free estimate” without first diagnosing the issue? Obviously, no one expects major repairs to be free, but calling this a free estimate is, in my view, a play on words used to attract customers under false pretenses.
      We chose this company because we believed we would get a fair and honest assessment at no cost. Instead, we were charged $154 just to be told where the leak was coming from—before any actual repair was even discussed. As a result, we have chosen not to move forward with Roto-Rooter and will seek assistance elsewhere.

      1 star is too many! Sent a supervisor out on a Saturday evening (why?) when we called to have a water line repaired. He arrived before the repairman and looked at the problem. When the repairman arrived, they visited behind the van for about 15 minutes. When the repairman came in he said he didn't have the materials with him to repair. I asked why when we told them the type of pipe we had when we called for the repair. He said our pipes were now illegal and that he shouldn't even work on them. Why didn't the "supervisor" know this to tell him to bring the right parts? Bottom line he said he had to go buy parts and we would pay for that time which would be $550. We said no, got some parts and fixed it for $30 and 10 minutes. What a rip off they were trying to pull!

      Roto Rooter came out April 5th. Its May 31st and main line is clogged again. NO WARRANTY. Want to charge another $500.00. No Thanks. BEWARE!!!!

      these peolpe claim that they clean up the water damage and dry up and report the insurance 14k when they only put fan to dry and left.

      Do not use! We called to have a technician come to look at leaking in our basement. They were originally scheduled to arrive yesterday afternoon, then changed the time to the evening between 6 and 10 the tech didnt call until after 11 and we we already in bed. We wont up to a notification that our tech would not be out until between 9 and 10.We gave them the benefit of the doubt and called then to ask for someone to arrive between 2 and 4 since we were going to be out that morning. I just received at call at 5 pm advising that I missed a tech call at 345 and wanted to know if we still needed service we cancelled our tech call. If you cant be on time for the inspection - how can we expect on time and quality service. Would not recommend AT ALL!

      I wish I could leave 0 stars. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I called them for a leak in the wall, the plumber stated he fixed it and I was charged $732.44! The mitigation team came, gutted my bathroom, ripped up my carpets, and put fans for 5 days, but after they were removed, the leak was still present. Turns out the plumber misdiagnosed and didn't even do anything! For this I was partially refunded after calling to complain. But now they've charged my home insurance over $13000 for a job they did not resolve, and this isn't fully covered. I had another company come in to resolve the issue and sent roto-rooter evidence of that. This is price gouging and DISHONESTY. I'm currently waiting to hear back from them as I addressed this issue in a very strongly-worded email to their payment center. I will not hesitate to file a lawsuit in this case if this issue is not resolved. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

      I called and expressed my urgency to get fix my clogged toilet.They appeared to be serious on the phone at first, but never kept promise.They told me the technician would arrive within 2 hrs, but I wait more than 3 hrs, and no one showed up. This was the fist contact with Roto-Rooter and obviously would be the ******* not recommend !!!!!

      Giving two stars b/c the technician was superb, even though expensive. My complaint is that shortly (maybe within the hour) after I made an online appointment for next day service - not even an emergency, some big guy shows up; It was well after dark, 8:30-9pm. I didn't hear him but my dogs started barking. I was calming them to be quiet, didn't know why they were on alert and then looked out the window and the guy was walking back to his car, past the next house over. Didn't think anything about it really, there's always foot traffic at all hours in my neighborhood. The next day while I was watching the technician work in my basement, same big guy shows up and allows himself down into my basement through the exterior side door where I had the tech enter. Both times, the big guy never called to introduce himself nor notify me who he was. I had a voicemail after the first time he showed up but he didn't elaborate that he had come by. I am a single woman and live alone with only my dogs for protection. It is Very Unacceptable for a stranger to randomly show up at someone's house, unannounced, and let himself onto my property, let alone walk through the doorway. It is a big violation against my safety. Turns out, he was trying to sell me clean-up services. I was pleasant with him, albeit, very startled, but told him I am well capable and could take care of it myself. He handed me his card and let himself out. When I asked the tech about the guy, the tech knew him but not directly. Another plumbing *** came out a few days later and did a better review of what my sewer pipe situation was, charged me 2.5x less for recleaning/videoing the line and called the city because the real problem was out under the middle of the street in the main section. I will reiterate how very unacceptable it is for a strange man to randomly show up and let himself onto my property without a phone call first. I will definitely never use Roto-Rooter again.
