2 starsThey came out to clean the drainage pipe connecting the 2 bathrooms, A t-tube if you will. They did that successfully. Unfortunately before they re-installed the 2 toilets they first cut off the flange from the cast iron pipe that has been there not leaking since 1972, and installed some plastic compression concoction. I have been in construction for years, never seen something so ridiculous. When the plastic flange failed, nothing could be done since the destroyed the original, un-damaged cast iron flange. Would have been easy to just replace the wax seal, but there is no longer anything to attach anything to. They spent more time trying to upsell everything instead of competently performing straight-forward tasks. Don't use them unless you know something about plumbing AND plan to babysit them and watch EVERYTHING they do...Roto-Rooter

They came and fixed the sealing of the toilet redoing the broken ******, but still not 100%. Guess that costs extra. Of well, at least they came and fixed to problem.Review fromCorporate Greed Destroys Lives

1 starWhat a poor example of a business with integrity, because this business has none. Charging $1500 for a wax ring and a supply tube and unclogging a toilet to a pair of disabled elderly people in wheel-chairs is morally bankrupt. Don't use this company they are criminals who pray on those less fortunate.Roto-Rooter

1 starDO NOT HIRE. Tuesday 6/24/25 I paid $512 to fix a floor drain that was backed up. They recommended hydrojet to clear out the issue. It appeared that it fixed the problem and they left. Today, 6/28/25 the exact same drain I hired them for backed up while doing laundry. I called them back, they arrived and wanted to charge another $250 dollars to fix exact same drain. I rejected, the offered $127, I rejected, they went to their vehicle for half and hour, came back and still would not fix without charging. Their 6 month warranty means nothing. They have lost my business. I will make sure friends, family and acquaintances never hire them again.Roto-Rooter

1 starExtremely Disappointed – Price Gouging and Unethical Practices
We had a highly disappointing and troubling experience with Roto-Rooter that we feel compelled to share, especially for families new to the area or in vulnerable situations. As a Coast Guard family who had just relocated to Southern Florida from Connecticut under military orders, we were dealing with the stress of moving and settling into a new home when, within just four days, our cast iron pipes began backing up.
Roto-Rooter dispatched a contractor (without notice) to assess the situation. Over the course of the entire day, we were pressured into agreeing to a service package that was later revealed to be extremely overpriced.
Services Provided:
Descaling (70 feet)
Hydrojetting (70 feet)
Replacement of PVC Cleanout
Initial Quoted Cost: $11,100
Final Charged Amount After Negotiation: $8,600
We pleaded with the general manager regarding the excessive and unreasonable pricing. After significant discussion, we were given a $2,500 discount. However, upon obtaining several second opinions from other licensed plumbing professionals, we were quoted for the same scope of work between $1,700 and $2,500 — a fraction of what Roto-Rooter charged us.
What makes this situation especially upsetting is that the contractor was made aware of our military status and the personal and financial stress we were under. Despite this, we were still subjected to aggressive sales tactics and an egregious overcharge for essential plumbing work.
We expected professionalism, transparency, and fair pricing — not manipulation and exploitation during a vulnerable time.Review fromcharlyn B

1 starRip Offs, To BIG TOO CARE some workers are unprofessional, amateurs and inconsiderate 4 month training. To call for a leak and be told we will not be able to find a leak in the large house, how about starting in the kitchens or bathrooms before you tell the customer the plumbing is out dated twenty years old. The worst part is the demolition and unbelievable holes in the ceiling, how big or how many no consideration of the cost to have their disaster fixed {drywall, plaster and paint} by another company. I wish I could attach pictures. They will never step back in this house again. THE COMPANY SONG "AND AWAY GOES YOUR MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN" Hopefully they'll stand on their warranties, and not try to find a way to say it is not included.Roto-Rooter

1 starI would leave no stars if I could! I was billed over $400 and no repair was made. They showed camera "evidence" of a broken pipe under the concrete in the basement. To make the repair, they wanted $8,826.21 UP FRONT and they would return in a couple of days to start the work. Fortunately, we had the good sense to let them know we would be getting a second opinion/estimate due to the huge quote they provided. Ultimately, the company we contacted came out, located the blockage and charged us $375. This Roto-Rooter is either entirely incompetent or a scam. There was both a technician and a supervisor (was called to assist the tech) involved. ***, from the company, responded to my review on another site. I emailed her directly and crickets. The person I left the voicemail for a week ago (corporate office phone), also crickets.Roto-Rooter

How funny, this is a similar response that they provided on my ****** review. I did email them at the address provided. Name. Invoice number. Same with the voicemail I left before I wrote the first review. No explanation except that this is a company you should run from. Zero credibility and no ethics.Review fromChris H

1 starAbsolutely awful company. We had a sewer backup and they came in like sharks. Charged my insurance company $16,000 for cleaning a shower and bathtub. They put fans in my crawl space and tore out insulation. This was 100% not needed. Insurance only cover $10,000 leaving me the difference. Their invoice had over $7,000 of devices they never performed. These people are absolutely disgusting and should be locked up.Roto-Rooter

1 starIf I could leave a 0 stars I would. This company is a scam and a shame in the business! Although I have made multiple complaints about what happened they continue to harass and threaten to put a lien on my home.On the first day I called for an estimate I was told by ****** that I would not be charged and what I was signing was simply to be able to communicate with my insurance company. He had me call my insurance company on the spot and got the claim number with what seemed at the moment as a genuine attempt to help.Come to find out he filled out a minimum dollar amount for their water restoration charges of $5000 after I signed the form. And now that my insurance company has said what ROTO ROUTER is charging is outrageous they are harassing me for a ridiculous balance. Not to mention I asked them to come pick up their equipment on a Friday and they conveniently ignored my calls and messages and waited until The following Monday to pick up their equipment.THIS IS A SHADY MONEY HUNGRY COMPANY WHO ARE WILLING TO PUT YOUR HOME AT RISK TO MAKE MONEYReview fromNancy C

1 starThey charged me double what was advertised, broke my drain cover and didn't replace it. I was charged double, even though they never finished the job. I highly, highly, highly do not recommend. They're all about commission, love to rip people off and do nothing but lie.Roto-Rooter
