Eco shield was to provide on going service and failed. The missed several months of service. I expressed this to be not acceptable and missed services would need to be added on the the end of the contract at no charge. They refused to comply with this request and stated I have no evidence of the" missed services" when i live/work from the property in question as well as have cameras that recorded. The denial and lack of rendering of services has lead to me closing my account. All I want now is the harassment to stop and for the company to release me from the "213.25" bullshit charge as when asked they can't provide proof that the techs have been on siteBusiness Response

I recently had Ecoshield perform two pest control services and the service was adequate and l paid them through my credit card. The salesperson who sold me the service said at the time l had to get at least two treatments and then could cancel. After the second treatment l called Ecoshield to cancel and they had me call back several times and tried to pressure me into continuing their service. I was informed that l would have to pay a cancelation fee., which the salesman never mentioned. The customer service representative said that since l checked yes on a text message that l was liable for the cancelation fee. I feel their practices are misleading and discieving and should have been mentioned upfront. I don't believe their entitled to the fee. I recently had to get a new credit card from my provider since my information was hacked. Ecoshield customer services has called and texted repeatedly for my credit card information. I have not contacted as of yet and I would prefer to wait until l hear from the BBB regarding my complaint. Thank you for looking into this matter.Respectfully,***************************Business Response

Ecosheild was NOT clear in their contract "requirements." The assumption was a one-time charge of $213.25 (August 2023) with subsequent treatment timing up to me as the homeowner. When I learned that treatments were automatically scheduled quarterly I attempted to cancel the contract and was told there was no way out. They "allowed" us to postpone the winter treatment (there are no pests in the winter) and that treatment was done in March 2024. We have made 3 payments to the company and are once again have attempted to cancel the contract and am being told there is no way out. There has to be a way out. We DO NOT need quarterly pest control services and never have in the many years we've lived here. I want out of this contract please. The customer service is unprofessional and unkind and the contract parameters were not clearly articulated during the initial consult in August of 2023. I do not want to pay this company any more money for an unneeded service, I want out of the contract please.Business Response

I had to sign a contract and as a new homeowner felt pressured into it by aggressive solicitation. Once contract was satisfied and no early termination payment was needed I canceled. Since then I have received daily phone calls 2 to 3 a day from customer service which have come at all times of the day. Upon contacting customer service myself I was given the run around and no resolution.Business Response

From ***********, ****** *****, one of their sales guys came knocking on my door with his sales pitch that sounded very good at first. He gave me a lower price than advertised, of course another sales tactic, but I needed some mosquito treatment so I agreed. I know I should have looked at Yelp reviews and BBB complaints but this man was pursuant, so I didn't bother. But he told me it was a year contract and the contract specifically states all the *******s for one year ending in June 2024. But he sneaked in a clause at the very of the contract stating that it is a ************************************************* that its a on year contract. Their ******* is sub-par, otherwise I would keep them for another year, but I'm not happy with their ******* and their treatments are inefficient causing bugs and mosquitoes all over my property. So I wanted out of the contract after my final June ******** When I called to cancel, they said its a 24 month contract and I have to pay $150 to cancel. This is absurd and ****** lied to me. I have texted him and he has ignored me repeatedly. I need this contract cancelled after my June ******* without any penalty.Business Response

On 4/30/24, Ecoshield performed additional contract services to clean out my crawlspace and install a dehumidifier. An electrician also came out to install the power outlet that was needed for the dehumidifier. The deal was that Wisetack would provide the financing of the cost $4265 with zero percent financing. I received the Wisetack link to finalize the deal and had a selection for 24mths at 0%. I had an issue with the link and when I went back in the 0% financing was now *****% financing. I have called Wistack and Ecoshield to fix this, but basically they are telling me that neither company has control over this. I feel like this was a bait and switch. Also, the electrician that installed the power outlet, must of overloaded the circuit, cause every time the dehumidifier kicks on, other lights in my house flicker. I'm concerned that this may be a fire hazard as well.Business Response

I went under contract Nov.3,2023 to eradicate squirrels out of the attic and then have repair made to the damage. They have come back over and over again causing more damage than when they started. The squirrels are still there. I have had them at the house no less than 8 times and they just get it wrong and make the damage worse. I paid $2292.44 before work was even started. They have caused a larger hole in the roof of the garage and don't feel responsible to repair the damage to the roof the soffit and the gutter. All of which the squirrel knocked out trying to escape being closed inside the soffits. They are still there and the company on the last visit was told I want some kind of compensation and I haven't heard from the company again since the last repair job. Still have squirrels and damage. I am at my wits end trying to get this issue resolved as I have cancer and can't keep doing this.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: As a company that is trying to expand it's business from Bug Control to many other things you are absolutely so unprofessional it is without a daught my most unpleasant association with a company. I will be sure to call the number I have and make someone from your company come back out to the house in question and make sure they either fix it and remove all squirrels and repair the damage they caused, or we are going to have more problems than the BBB. You are a disgrace to any and all companies in the field of Pest Control. Just disgusting. I think you are thieves, never having any intentions of doing your job and following through. Just disgusting. You can always call the number given you on the many electronic emails and phone calls I left for your company.

There was an agent of EcoShield Pest Control company who came to my house in May 2023 offering himself to be an entrepreneur, Brendon C********, with three other young people forming a small business company. Although I did not need his service as I have sprayed my property against ants and bugs in the past, I thought I would encourage these young people to start their business. When Brendon talked about a year-contract, I told him that was not needed. In order to entice me to have me accept the offer (under my conditions), he told me that since I was the first in my area to accept his service, he would give me 1- a discounted price, and 2- he would give me June spraying for free, and May and September 2023 for a fee. Thus, I accepted the deal. Based on those premises, I thought he typed in his pad all what I wanted. Then, he showed me a blank block on his pad to sign, which I did. Later, when I received an email from EcoShield, I realized that I was duped into signing what I did not agree to verbally. It is unfortunate that sometimes we want to help younger people in the beginning of their careers, they turn out to be misleading thieves in clothes of lambs. It is also unfortunate that I met this young man at the door of the closed library (a few feet away from my house), where I wanted to talk to the librarian, and he needed urgently to relieve himself. I told him that natural needs such as that, would require immediate action, and I offered him to come to my house and use our bathroom. That's when the fraudulent business talk started. The attached file (EcoShield-Complaint to BBB) gives some details of what took place, showing that the matter has been dealt with promptly, talking to EcoShield management, both in NJ and at the headquarters in AZ. It looks like even the higher management at their headquarters, by employing untrustworthy employees, and by avoiding responding to customers' complaints, they too must be untrustworthy and fraudulent as well. + AttachmntBusiness Response

BBB,
Please refer to our previous correspondence where we thoroughly addressed the concerns raised by Mr. ******* ******* We reiterate that all necessary sign-up procedures were diligently followed, with the agreement signed, initialed, and promptly delivered to the customer. Notably, no disputes or concerns were raised within the specified 3-day period.
In addressing Mr. ******'s request for a full refund totaling $362.53 for two service visits, it's essential to note that verbal agreements purportedly made with our sales representative lack substantiation through proper documentation. Similarly, claims of separate notes detailing different agreements lack verifiable evidence.
In demonstrating our commitment to customer satisfaction, we have waived the $150 annual commitment discount chargeback as a gesture of goodwill. However, given the lack of additional substantiated information from the customer, we are unable to accommodate requests for refunds pertaining to services that were rendered.
To date, the total amount paid by Mr. ****** stands at $362.53, with all other visits and associated charges having been waived or covered by EcoShield. Should Mr. ****** wish to provide further information or seek clarification, we remain available to assist.Customer Answer

On 08/01 at around 7 pm a young man rang my doorbell and stated he was with a pest control company and was in the neighborhood signing up customers for pest control services. Since several of my neighbors had signed up there would be leftover supplies on the truck and he could offer me the same service, but with a huge discount. The service cost $329.00 but I would only have to pay $179.00. He listed several several pest including mice, bees, ants and spiders. He stated several neighbors had complained about mice and I had noticed mice droppings in my home and had set out bait. About an hour prior to his arrival I'd been sealing a hole in one of my porch columns that had a bee infestation and had been stung so I thought this was excellent timing. The next day another young man came and performed the service. He appeared to have done a good job however on 08/03 I contacted them to let them know the bees were back. They sent someone out on 08/04 and this appeared to have worked. I contacted the company via text with a video on 08/10 to show the ants were back and also that I saw mice droppings in my kitchen. I received no response. I forwarded this video and text to the young man who stated when he came to my house if there were any problems I could contact him, he didn't reply either. On 09/09 I received an email and text message stating it was time for a service appointment. I replied to both that I'd already spent money on mice and ant poisons/repellents and was not in need of their service. They responded with an automatic message that they would contact me with a resolution. I emailed and text a few other times letting them know they were in default of their contract as I was not satisfied with the service I received for the money paid. I later spoke by phone with one of their representatives and again stated I didn't want their services and they voided their contract. On Oct. 5, I received a bill for $159.94.Business Response

Although I am thankful you were able to get those pests and rodents away, I apologize you felt you were in a position to not be able to lean on the company you signed up with.

A month ago in July2023 somebody came unannounced to my door and said I had hornets nest and bees and he would take care of my problem. I told him I did not need his services. He was persistent. I sent him away. Two hours later he shows up and he was more persistent. He brought another fellow. They did the job in 5 to 7 minutes and took my credit card number. He charged me $ 137.85 cents. Now on August 16 2023 they sent me a message they are coming back to take care of my property. I sent a text message saying, I do not need their services.Business Response
