1 starNever have I been so utterly disgusted by a company! Flagship/FantaSea and their employees are reprehensible. Everyone I came into contact with intentionally deceived me and I have had it! I bought a timeshare because I was told that I would be investing in property and would be able to vacation when I wanted to. Instead of any sort of property, I own a week. This makes usage difficult. I have to use my week when the company decides and NOT on my schedule as promised. If I want to change it to peak season, the extra cost is outrageous. Should I decide to stay for longer than one week, I can only book 60 days ahead- when everything is already gone! If I want to split my week, its another $60 charge. This is the WORST financial decision I have ever been deceived into and I have nothing to show for it!Review fromYolanda R

1 starFantaSea Resorts and Flagship Resorts, their parent company, is in the business of tricking people into their sales offices where they will rob you. Their deceitful sale practices should be exposed before more people fall victim to them. BE ON ALERTIf you ever get notified youve won anything, just assume you will come out the backside a loser. To start with, you arent winning anything if you are forced to attend a timeshare presentation to redeem it. I purchased a trial package; and when I complained about the lack of availability and called out the omissions that occurred, I eventually got lured back into their web. Dumb me, just when I thought I was being heard, I was duped into upgrading. Now, I have been complaining for over 3 years about their lack of transparency regarding the real costs, and the exchange companies that you are forced to sign up for to use the product in any capacity. The resorts are subpar, at any price. These people are willing to take advantage of you, under the umbrella of winning a prize. The practice is deplorable! My monthly payments are in line with a car payment, with nothing but grief to show for it. I am no longer interested in maintaining any relationship with this company, in any capacity. Everyone should steer clear of this despicable company and their shady salespeople.Review fromMargaret H

1 starWe would give zero if we could. We genuinely feel like we have been lied to by this company at every possible turn. It is very frustrating to know that they are unwilling to help us with the situation that they have put us in as well. All we are after here is freedom from this company, and we want others to be aware of what they could possibly be getting into if they are not very very cautious. Maybe they will come around, but it seems unfair that we are having to push so hard on this matter. Why wont Boardwalk do the right thing here?Review fromFranklin B

1 starThis has been a complete waste! I have tried multiple times and multiple places and nothing is available. We also were never able to use the free getaway" trips. I tried for us and my parents--never successful! We were able to use a hotel at a discounted rate a couple of times, but we never received the room we were supposed to have. They told us that we would have a king-size bed every time and every room is updated. We were never given a king-size bed and the accommodations were poor. There was sometimes a smell or the rooms weren't "updated" as the showroom was when we bought. The shuttle that was supposed to be available to us never was and never went to where we wanted to go. Additionally, there was virtually no parking in the garage, and we were forced to park in a questionable dirt lot across the street. Even though they repeatedly failed to deliver on their initial promises, they pledged that if we upgraded then it would be different. As it turns out, this simply made the problem worse. I am out even more money and they still fail to deliver. I have made multiple attempts for me and for my parent's access and nothing was ever available! This has just been the most disappointing, costly "investment" we have ever made. It is no investment, it was a scam. A scam to steal our money not once but twice and make promises that would never come true. No one should ever have to go through what we have and were tricked twice by using our own hopes against us. It is disgusting..Review fromJonathan G

1 starWe got wrapped in this scam 10 years ago while we were visiting *************. Two of their con artist salespeople (I'll kindly allow them to stay anonymous) pressured us immensely and made grandiose promises, but it turns out everything they told us was a lie. We were duped into paying nearly $18,000, but after discovering hidden costs, we realize we have "invested" over $30,000 in this scam. We spent over 6 hours listening to their salesman badger us on why the purchase will make our lives better. All the while they had us trapped in the sales meeting, a truly captive audience. We agreed to sign since we were totally exhausted after spending practically the entire day in this meeting. Although it was said that we could use this timeshare "anytime, wherever," that is not at all true!! We can't continue to live this nightmare. It costs us $900 a year just to pay for something we can't even use!!! Since the beginning, this has been a disaster, and we want it all to be over. We have made an effort to get in touch with these people, but it has just made us more frustrated.Review fromDavid S.

1 star***************************** experience with FantaSea/Flagship/Boardwalk resorts has been filled with lies and deception from the very beginning. We had entered a giveaway at a local home show, which we later learned was just a sneaky way for their staff to get out contact information, When we met with their staff at the presentation, we were tole that we were investing in a piece of ************* real estate that would provide a significant return on investment and we could rent out the unit to cover the cost of the maintenance fees with the rental income. This appeared to be a great idea, so we decided to make a purchase. The lies didn't stop there either, the closing officer intentionally withheld information as well. They never reviewed the loan terms with us, told us there was a legal cancellation period allowed in **, or showed ** the club details with all the fees disclosed. Now, 7 years later, we have paid over $27,000 for something WE CANNOT USE and there is no legal end in sight. Based on rental rates on public sites, we could book over 300 nights at the same resort with that money! So mad that we became owners for the exclusivity and booking flexibility when non-owners have more access! Be cautious about giving your information to people at convention kiosks, or you could end up in this same unfortunate situation.Review fromCharles M

1 starWe feel like we have been scammed. When we were pressured to buy our timeshare, we were promised that we would be able to go wherever we wanted whenever we wanted. We quickly realized that the availability in their inventory is not what we were led to believe it would be. We are frustrated because the idea of being able to vacation wherever we want was the pivotal point that led to our purchase. If they had not lied to us on this point, then we would never have made this purchase. We want nothing more to do with this company and we feel we are entitled to a refund as we were wrongfully taken advantage of. We have reached out to them repeatedly, but they never respond. Looking through the other reviews, its clear that we arent the only ones who have fallen prey to this scam. BUYER BEWAREReview fromLori O.

1 starFantaSea/Flagship Resorts?or whatever name you are going by today, you should not be in business! We have been paying enormous sums of money with absolutely nothing to show for it. What we own is a timeshare that cant be used, that cant be sold or rented, and that will burden our children with ********************* fees.?? The staff lied to us: This is NOT an investment that we could sell /rent at our leisure. What it IS, is a product with nearly zero demand in the aftermarket and renting it out is expensive and nearly impossible. The loan was inaccurately described to us, as the total interest percentage of our purchase was never disclosed.? Our legal right to rescission was never disclosed.?? They misrepresented the survivorship ?claiming that we were purchasing deeded property, which could be passed to our children.?Failing to mention that our children would be obligated to cover all maintenance fees and costs associated with the timeshare after our passingeven if they didnt want the timeshare.?? Everything about Flagship Resorts has been indicative of a money-grubbing scam. Their staff has no interest in the financial wellbeing of their clients and will do everything in their power to break down potential customers and dupe them into confusing, lengthy, one-sided contracts.Review fromIrene P

1 starA BBB Consumer Alert should be posted On behalf of three seniors who purchased at Flagship Resorts *************, ****, Oct. 6, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- A Superior Court jury in ********** decided in favor of consumers deceived by timeshare seller FantaSea Resorts, awarding the plaintiffs a $1,069,285 verdict for the ************* resort's intentionally deceptive sales practices. In trial, FantaSea Resorts admitted to making knowingly false statements to lure potential buyers into binding timeshare sales agreements through a sales process that violated the ********** *********** Timeshare Act (****). According to court documents, FantaSea intentionally withheld important sales documents from the buyers until after they had completed the transaction, contrary to what they are legally required to do.FantaSea, a participant in the Resort ***************** (ROC) of the American Resort *********************** (ARDA) whose properties include its Flagship, *************** and ********** resorts, also misled consumer plaintiffs into believing that their purchase was a real estate investment that would increase in value over time. Instead, plaintiffs in the suit found that they were not only unable to sell their timeshare purchase but that it had effectively no resale value. What's more, FantaSea's timeshare sales were rigged so that timeshare owners would routinely pay more for a vacation stay than non-owners, according to court documents. In one case, over the length of the plaintiff's 10-year mortgage, she would pay more than $17,000 for five one-week stays throughout the decade. A non-owner would pay just $3,965 for those same five stays. Even if the plaintiff continued to use her timeshare after her 10-year mortgage was paid off, it would take more than 150 years to break even with the non-owner. Another plaintiff testified at trial that it would take him 168 years to break even with a non-owner.
