1 starCustom bathroom replacement window (slider) and 40 width front door with transom. Original install in April 2025 and still waiting for front door part of project to be completed. Proper length of Inside door trim not brought to first install and no outdoor trim was brought either. Bathroom window installed was about 1.5 to short (vertical) and only noticeable from outside with wider top flashing compared to other windows. Front door transom window installed was scratched. I ended up purchasing proper style of outdoor trim to get the outside finished and painted. Still waiting now for over 2 months for proper length of inside trim. At least the replacement transom window is now available, but company will not come to install trim until it is available from their supplier. Do not recommend this company. Apparently they have trouble with custom orders - especially front doors. Plus they are not proactive with communication. I am on my ********* and our management company has already alerted other ************** companies statewide to warn homeowners not to hire this company.

1 starI was very disappointed with Universal Windows. My husband and I met with ***** and had discussed replacing the window in our entire house. After further discussion, we then decided to only do the downstairs. We reached out to ***** the day before the company was coming out to measure. He told us to let the guys know that there would be a change, but to go ahead and measure the whole house. My husband spoke with them the day of measurement, but later found out they did not make the necessary notations on the form. My mother in law was at the house and signed paperwork with the measurements before they left. My husband continued communicating with ***** about the change, and was told he would be meeting with his supervisor and would be getting paperwork over to us for the change. Communication with ***** went on for 2 weeks, but no paperwork was ever sent over. I then called and spoke with **** ******* about the changes and while talking to him, I received a call saying my windows were in and were ready to be installed. He told me since they had already been ordered, that there was nothing they could do because the paper was signed on the day of measurement. We were told to let the measurement tech know, which we did, but didnt realize we would have to follow up to be sure they did their job. This is very disappointing because communication continued after this for 2 weeks through text messaging making it seem as though things on their end were being handled to complete the change. In the end, they did end up taking $2,500 off the total bill, but that is a lot less than the $17,000 had we only done the bottom floor. I would not recommend them, but if you do, be sure to follow up on all changes because they will not always do their job.Review fromGary J

1 starUniversal of Windows Direct of Charlotte installed all of our home windows nearly 10 years ago. The windows are just 'OK' as far as quality is concerned, but even though I've bought their cheap windows, they continue to harass me with advertising mail on a regular and frequent basis. I've called the local office and their corporate office more times than I can count, and still I continue to receive their useless ads. Is it really that difficult to be removed from a mailing list? Sometimes something so simple can tell one all they need to know about the company behind it! I won't be using or recommending their products or services again.Review fromKathleen K

1 starThe company does not listen to your requests or your needs. I learned early on while getting a quote they do not care about your needs. I would never give them a ***** and trust them with materials to last in my home. I was treated poorly when I called to explain what happened to me. Whoever answered the phone actually told me they were all there to make a sale, and dismissed what happened to me, then after a couple more rude comments, hung up on me. Unless you sign that financing they want you to sign the first day they walk into your home, it seems like you mean nothing to them.Universal Windows Direct of Charlotte

5 starsI asked for a representative to come and give me a quote for replacing all of our windows and sliding patio door. Loved the demonstration of the casement windows, including the mechanical portion, when I asked about Argon leakage I was shown their warranty and given a complete assessment as to why their product doesn't leak. Had a great experience and was not pressured to purchase at all. Given many options for financing as well.Universal Windows Direct of Charlotte
