I am writing to formally dispute your claim that the damage to my vehiclespecifically, multiple scratches to the hoodwas not caused by your mechanical car wash. These scratches were not present before I entered your facility on 6/1/25, and they are consistent with contact from mechanical components, such as the brush rollers coming down onto the hood within your automated system. There is no logical reason except for this type of damage due to the consistent similar characteristic (width and depth, etc.) scratches found throughout the hood.I have attached clear photos documenting the damage. I respectfully request that you either:Initiate a claim through your insurance carrier, or reimburse the cost of repair to resolve this matter promptly.Business Response

We appreciate the opportunity to respond to the customer's concerns regarding alleged scratches to their vehicles hood after visiting our car wash.
At Take 5 Car Wash, we take vehicle safety and customer satisfaction very seriously. Upon receiving the complaint, we conducted a thorough review, including examining our surveillance footage, maintenance logs, and speaking with our on-site team.
Based on this investigation, we found no indication of malfunction or irregularities with the wash equipment on the date in question. Additionally, the location and pattern of the reported scratches are inconsistent with the rotation, alignment, and reach of our wash brushes. Our equipment is designed and calibrated to minimize contact pressure and avoid any surface damage when properly used.
Furthermore, no other similar complaints were reported that day or in the surrounding time frame, and our brushes are made of soft, foam-like material that is regularly maintained and inspected to prevent any abrasive contact.
As a result, we must respectfully deny liability for the damages claimed. Thank you for allowing us the chance to address this concern.Initial Complaint

The link in the email was invalid. Upon showing email for the $27 Unlimited Wash I was given the lesser Wash of $22. Manager ****** ******** told me I was not given the full price even though he was aware I paid for The higher priced wash. All of the phone numbers he gave me for customer support either were invalid or directs me back to the web site. He told me this is a common practice at his establishment. I believe it is a dishonest business practice.Business Response

In September of 2024 I used the Take 5 Car wash at ****************************************. The car wash attendant took my credit card and said that he would give me unlimited washes for the month since it was the same price as one wash due to a promotion they were doing. One month later I saw a charge from them appear on my credit card and at that moment I realized they were using my card for recurring payments. I reached out to Take 5 to notify them that I wanted to opt out of any recurring payments or memberships etc and on Nov 3rd received a confirmation email stating that my membership was successfully canceled. I have just recently found out through a review of my credit card bills that Take 5 has continued to bill me $22 a month (November 2024 to present) despite my having canceled my membership. I have not used their car wash since my original visit in September of 2024. This has resulted in $176 of fraudulent charges that I would like to have reimbursed by the company. I would also like to make sure that my credit card information is erased from their systems to make sure that they cannot make additional fraudulent charges.Business Response

Hi *****,
Thank you for contacting the Take 5 Car Wash ************* Team.
Your initial inquiry request was in regards to a double billing issue.
A duplicate Unlimited Wash Membership was terminated and a refund was processed for the double billing.
The other membership remained active as there was no request to cancel both memberships as we only addressed the double billing, per your request.
The second membership has since been terminated, per a second request submitted by you.
No refund will be issued for the second membership as it was terminated before a successful renewal charge was posted.
It is our pleasure to serve you,

On 5/20/2025 while at the **** location the passenger mirror on my truck was broken off by one of the brushes in the car wash. The company denied my claim and refused to provide a detailed explanation of the reason or evidence for the denial. They ghosted me when I requested a contact to escalate the claim. I tried to contact the corporate office via the website submission form with no response. The denial claimed that they are not responsible for loose or weathered parts. The mirror was in good condition and not loose. The brush on that side of the vehicle was pressing very hard against the vehicle.Business Response

Hi Dusty,
We conducted a comprehensive investigation regarding your claim. This process involved a meticulous review of all relevant evidence and documents, an examination of camera footage, and an inspection of the equipment within the tunnel.
The results of this investigation indicate that the car wash is not responsible for the damage you reported. Your claim has been denied, and this decision remains the official position of the company.
Thank you for your time.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: If you look over the ****** reviews you will see that there is at least one additional review showing the exact same damage on a different vehicle during the same time period. I am aware of the state of my vehicle and was in the vehicle at the time of the incident. The brush was pressing very hard against that side of the vehicle. I could easily understand if this was a trim piece, but ripping a mirror off of a vehicle is a different story. I also tried to discuss this with the business and get no response. When I questioned and requested details or even a copy of the video I get nowhere. This business is conducting poor business practices. I will never use them again. I may take the business to small claims court out of pure principle and we can let a judge decide.Initial Complaint

Happened on April 12, 2025 between ************** husband and I went through the automated car wash at Take 5 Car Wash in *******, Sc, Saturday evening. When we pulled up the Manager ******* sprayed our car halfway but got distracted by another customer coming up and asking him a question. While in the car wash something happened that lifted our truck off the track and we beep the horn, they stopped the car wash but we did not realize what happened. ******* the manager comes and checks on us and everything seemed fine. Once we get to the end ******* comes out and hands us our antenna and says sorry. We pulled off, not thinking too much about it and went to a dinner that we were on the way to. Once we got to our dinner I checked the truck and I have a HUGE hole in my front passenger fender from where my whole antenna was ripped out of my truck. By this time the car wash was already closed so we went up there the next day and talked to *******. He did remember us and apologized for what happened. Filed out a complaint form and we have yet to hear anything from them. We have tried multiple times to contact someone about it with no response. We have been a member for quite some time and would appreciate a response. Please reach out so we can get this resolved.Business Response

On May 2, 2025, while utilizing their automated wash system, one of the rotating washing arms forcibly dislodged the right front fender camera from my 2021 Tesla ************* exiting the facility, I immediately observed the damage. Inspection revealed that the equipment had physically torn the camera housing from the fender, breaking a retaining clip.I promptly reported the incident to an on-site employee, ******************* who documented the matter using the companys standard Damage Claims Intake Form. While Mr. ****** completed the form, I reviewed and preserved onboard video footage from my vehicle, which clearly captured the camera being struck and damaged by Take 5s machinery. Mr. ****** assured me I would receive a follow-up call within 24 hours. No such contact occurred.Subsequently, ***** concluded that the entire camera assembly required replacement. The total cost of repair was $150.40.On June 4, 2025more than a month after the incidentI received an email from Take 5s claims department denying liability. Their justifications included:There was no equipment failure or employee error. The same equipment touched the entire vehicle and there is no other reported damage. Our equipment is regularly inspected and designed to avoid causing this type of damage.this factual evidence does not support a claim of damage caused by the service at Take 5 Car Wash. These statements are legally immaterial. The equipment design and absence of a broader malfunction is irrelevant and does negate the proximate cause of this damage-Take 5's equipment dislodging my camera. Take 5 has provided no "factual evidence"only generalized, conclusory statements with no factual support in bad faith that do not counter my video.Absent a prompt and satisfactory resolution, and will pursue all available legal remedies, including litigation, to recover the cost of the repair and any additional damages permitted by law.Business Response

After reviewing the incident, including photos of the vehicle and the part in question, it appears that the component may have already shown signs of wear and tear prior to the wash. The interior of the piece shows signs of dirt buildup and wear that suggest it may have been previously loosened or not securely fastened.
Additionally, our maintenance logs show no malfunctions or maintenance tickets on the day in question. We also did not receive any other customer complaints regarding similar issues that day or throughout the week. If a brush had made contact with the piece, it likely would have only done so if the component was already partially detached or if an interior clip was broken beforehand.
While we regret any inconvenience experienced, based on our findings, we do not believe the damage was caused by our equipment.Customer Answer

Starting in November 2024, I was apparently charged $22/mo for a car wash membership I did not purchase. I downloaded an app which tells you of recurrent charges and this came up, to my shock. I was charged on Nov 26 2024 all the way until last month (May 27, 2025). The total amount is $154. I do use the car wash for individual washes, of which I have had several in these months, of course no idea I had a "membership." So they have gotten quite a bit of my money. If this was accidentally purchased, no one who worked there made me aware. They would have had to given me some kind of sticker or something, right? Or a membership card? I don't even know the protocol...because I have never purchased this. I always stick around and vacuum so they could have approached me at any time after a wash. No one did. I called their customer service and they cancelled my membership but they're telling me they will only refund me $44 out of the $154 I feel that I am owed. I am told that that is their terms and conditions to only refund 2 months and that is what a supervisor approved. I didn't sign any terms and conditions though. She also admonished me for not bringing it to their attention sooner, which is outrageous. They also either want my bank account and routing info or I will get a check in 4-6 WEEKS. Which is a crazily long time.I do not know what happened here. Sometimes they have someone standing at the self serve terminal who forces you to give you their card when you could do it yourself. I am assuming that I was scammed at this point. Or I made a mistake. But if someone would have approached me when this happened, I would have cancelled it right there. I want the full amount returned and honestly, I would like to just drive over there and pick up cash or a check from the location. I have been talking to customer service for the whole org or something. The location seems to be a franchise.Business Response
