1 starClearent just debited my bank account $246.04 for "monthly fee". Speaking to customer service **** she explained my bank account was debited a $79.95 "regulatory fee" and a $79.95 charge for using the app. Although my bank listed the $246.04 as " monthly fee", the customer service *** insisted the $79.95 x 2 were "yearly" charges. When I checked the *** store, the Swipe Simple app is free. **************** *** tried to insist I have an equipment rental fee, but the last equipment I bought from Clearent was paid for in 2016. I asked her why they were charging me to use my phone? When I inquired how do I quit this rip off scheme, she told me I would be charged a $395 early disconnect fee. I've been with Clearent for over a decade. These new hidden charges are unacceptable.Review fromPamela A

1 starAVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!! Very unprofessional, deceptive practices, TONS on hidden fees and charges. I only had an account open with them for about 1 month, closed it right away when I realized what a scam they are, and I'm STILL getting monthly random fees and charges on a closed account.Review fromHn M

1 starcontinuously charged my account after both verbal and written communications to cease charging me for services not rendered. They have charged my account continuously since 08/2024 up to current. We have filed an *** complaint and are in the process of reviewing our options for filing criminal charges for financial transaction fraud. Ive spoke w *** and still today they are taking money out my account for services that were supposed to be canceled.Clearent LLC

1 starI am submitting a formal complaint against Clearent regarding unresolved issues with transactions processed through their service. We ran the card three times because each transaction appeared to be "failed" at the time of processingno signature slip was printed, and there was no indication that the payments were successful. However, when we later reconciled our account, we discovered that the payments had, in fact, gone through.We initially did not contact Clearent's customer support because of the apparent failure of the transactions. It was only upon further investigation that we realized the payments were processed, leading to confusion and frustration. Despite reaching out to Clearent for clarification and resolution, they have refused to take any responsibility for the issue or offer a solution. Their customer support team has been unhelpful, and we have not received any meaningful *********** a long-term customer, we are deeply disappointed by the lack of transparency and accountability. We believe Clearent has failed to address this issue properly, and their refusal to resolve the situation has caused us unnecessary stress and financial inconvenience.Clearent LLC

1 starDeceptive Practices and Disappointing Experience I recently signed up for services at Clearent based on a promotion that advertised free equipment for their credit card machine with the service. However, when I went to within the first month of services, I was stunned to learn that I would be charged 3 different amounts total of $687.15. This was not what I was promised, and it felt like a clear case of false advertising.The customer service team was unhelpful and dismissive when I raised my concerns and kept directing me to the sales ***resentative making instructing that she is the one that might be able to fix my issue. ******** service they seemed completely unaware of the promotion I had been told about, and I felt like I was being given the runaround. It's incredibly frustrating to deal with a business that lacks transparency and accountability. As a small business I have been impacted financially.I expected better from Clearent . Instead, I left feeling misled and frustrated. I strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with this company. There are plenty of other businesses that value integrity and customer satisfaction and sadly it seems this is not one of them.Note: the sales *** was amazing and always been helpful but the service of the company is a big problemClearent LLC

1 starAs a business owner, ** deeply disappointed by Clearents unethical practices. Despite repeated requests to close our account, ********************** continued charging us for months. We initially signed up for one account, but *********************** internal mishandling led to two accounts, both of which they conveniently refused to fully close. Even after multiple email exchanges and confirmations, unauthorized ACH debits kept appearing on our bank statements.Their customer service was unhelpful, constantly redirecting us with no resolution. Clearent seems more interested in squeezing money out of businesses than providing honest, reliable service. After several months of frustration, we had no choice but to escalate this matter to federal authorities and consider further legal action if necessary.Merchants, beware! If you value transparency and dont want to waste time fighting unjust charges, stay far away from Clearent. This company is a ripoff, plain and simple.Clearent LLC

1 starDO NOT USE CLEARENT!!Was with Clearent for 6 years. We go to trade shows 25 times a year. Showed up at a show in April and the card machine didn't work! Called customer service and they said the program I was on ended. I needed to speak to sales to get on a new one, but they don't open until Monday! A whole weekend of sales lost. 1000's of dollars. So, I found a new company.... once set up I cancelled the account with these con artists. I considered this a breach of contract on their part. a month later they withdrew $395 for early cancellation. I disputed it because they cancelled me and left me unable to take cards. They never informed me of the impending change! The program ended in September and after March the machine was cut off. No warning, no email, nothing at all. I submitted a request for a refund of the fees because they left me unable to even use their services. They denied my request. Simply sending me a copy of the contract saying the answers are in there. To add insult to injury 6 weeks after I closed the account they came and took another $40 for PCI compliance! The account was closed! Terrible experience plus I am out 1000's of dollars.DO NOT USE CLEARENT!Clearent LLC

1 starI started with clearent and 2020 after 3 1/2 years of doing business with this company closing the business. They decided to charge me at 395 termination fee. I was never informed that it was a yearly automatic renewal. I was told I had to stay with them one year or I would be charged this termination fee, but three years later theyre still charging me.Clearent LLC

1 starI terminated my account with **********************, yet they continued to deduct fees. When I inquired about these charges, Clearent claimed we had two accounts, one of which was not terminated. This is incorrect; we only ever had one account. If ********************** split our account for their internal purposes, that should not be our responsibility. This practice is both dishonest and unethical.
