I am a visitor who has been parking in the visitors parking since last November at ****************..I have been having several issues with this locations.parking procedures and have been towed several times as a result.. The first time I was towed in November 28th for parking in a residential spot without a permit. Which I paid $175 and had my car returned.Since then I have been towed a total of three times from the non-residential family/visitor/senior parking. I have gone to management to ask for a visitor's pass which I was informed there was no such a thing and as long as I parked in the non-residential family/visitors/seniors parking I should not be towed. So why is Duff towing a company under contract from Windsor towing cars from those same spots. I am unable to reach anyone in *******'s office because ****'S ON VACATION UNTIL MONDAY AND DIDN'T COVER ANY SATURDAY HOURS for herself or staff to handle these types of incidents. Also the manager of the tow company states that he has ****'s number but refused to call to verify anything. This is very problematic as these businesses are allowing predatory towing practices which is ILLEGAL. Can someone get back to me ASAP as I still can not get my vehicle released without them talking to someone from the management team which was unavailable yesterday. Long story short...If you can't agree as to which areas have permits and which areas don't THEN DON'T TOW PEOPLE'S CARS! I have been advised by the police to just take this matter up as a civil matter in court but why are they even allowed to conduct business like this in the first place My car was towed on September 28th October 19th and June 8th. I have police DC numbers from filing my car stolen ,text messages from the officers in regards to them having my car by "accident" then returning it. If need just ask and I'll forward it.

Duff towing has illegally towed my car three times from a marked visitors parking spot. Each time they've returned it without charge because I am allowed to park where they continuously tow me from. Each time I have to jump through hoops to get in contact with the property manager then have them call the tow company to tell them that they can't tow my vehicle from there. This has been ongoing since last year and **** continues to target my vehicle. I am requesting them to have no further contact with myself and my vehicle as there is and has not been any legal reason for them to tow me to being with. They tried to extort money out of me twice to return my vehicle that should not have been taken in the first place. This is harassment, extortion, and illegal towing at this point. I have never paid **** to return my I have never paid **** for towing yet and still they continue to this day to take my vehicle. They literally just released my vehicle today after stealing my vehicle on Friday June 7th at 11:15 pm. Is this legal business practices can they just tow my vehicle whenever it suits them?

My car was towed, while I was attending a funeral. It was raining and all the meters a cross from the church(2 blocks worth), had signs wrapped a round them with rubber bands, stating no parking. I then went to the public parking lot and bought me 2hrs, of time. Nevertheless, 45 minutes later my car was towed.I had no way home, nor could I finish my attendance for the funeral. As I stated earlier, I had to find a ride to go and retrieve my car. I waited over 40mins, for the person to get there. I told him I was attending a funeral and I bought a ticket for public parking. He replied and said yes I know, I had a lady earlier who was attended the same funeral, but I let her go. Then he proceeded to ask for $175.00 payment. Then he said I am letting you off, because I could make you go get your mother to coming and retrieve the car, because it's in her name. Mine you I'm almost 50, and he does not know my circumstances. I take care of my mother,(my mother had a stroke), full time, the disrespect, and predator hang around a funeral, to tow cars.

    Business Response

    Date: 02/27/2023

    Good morning,

I would like to take a moment to respond to complaints of this customer.  the parking lot where they were towed has a sign posted at the entrance and right at the machine where you pay for your ticket to park . The sign clearly states that you must place your paid ticket on your dashboard in clear view to avoid being towed . This is also printed on the ticket given.  All cars that are towed between 8:00am and 5:00pm are released by daytime tow drivers, prince George’s county allows 1hr for a driver to return to lot to release a vehicle back to its owner. This lot is a privately owned lot that contracts Duffs Towing to pickup cars that are in violation. It is the policy of Duffs to only release vehicles to the registered owner only and because of this customers situation the driver allowed her to pickup the Vehicle in mothers absence, however the vehicle still must be paid before it can be returned. Towing of vehicles in Prince George’s County is regulated at $175.00 for a vehicle under 10k lbs and this is also posted on the sign at entrance to parking lot.

photos are attached of signage at parking lot.

thank you for allowing us to respond to this complaint and my condolences to the customer that was towed
